Far-right anti-Israel commentator Tucker Carlson said the CIA is preparing a criminal referral against him over contacts he had with individuals in Iran before the current war, an allegation he described as politically motivated retaliation for his criticism of U.S. foreign policy.

Speaking on his show, Carlson said U.S. intelligence officials were preparing to send a report to the Department of Justice accusing him of committing a crime.

“The CIA is preparing some kind of criminal referral against me, a crime report to the Department of Justice, on the basis of a supposed crime I committed,” Carlson said in a video posted online.

According to Carlson, the alleged offense stems from conversations he had with people in Iran prior to the outbreak of the conflict.

“That is the crime I committed — talking to people in Iran before the war,” he said.

Carlson strongly denied any wrongdoing and accused U.S. intelligence agencies of attempting to silence him because of his opposition to the war.

“I am not an agent of any foreign power. I have only one loyalty, and that is to the United States,” Carlson said. “The CIA read my private text messages. This is political persecution by the deep state trying to manufacture a ridiculous case against me because I oppose this wicked war.”

The comments sparked criticism from fellow conservative figures, including right-wing activist Laura Loomer, who has long been critical of Carlson.

“If Tucker Qatarlson gets charged for violating FARA and or leaking information to Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran or Qatar, I’m taking credit,” Loomer wrote on X, referring to the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires individuals representing foreign interests to disclose their activities to the U.S. government.

“You have no idea how relentless I have been in speaking to GOP reps and even reporting Tucker to law enforcement and the DOJ. I pray my efforts are successful,” she added.

Referring to Carlson’s claim that the CIA was preparing a case against him, Loomer wrote: “Sounds like someone is trying to get ahead of a story. Lock him up!”

Carlson has long been one of the most prominent critics of U.S. support for Israel and has frequently voiced skepticism about Israel’s role in Middle Eastern conflicts.

In past broadcasts and interviews, Carlson has questioned the scale of American aid to Israel and warned that U.S. leaders were placing Israeli interests ahead of American priorities. He has also criticized Israeli military operations in Gaza and suggested that Washington’s alliance with Israel risks dragging the United States into broader regional wars.

Those remarks have drawn sharp criticism from pro-Israel commentators and Jewish organizations, who accuse Carlson of promoting narratives that weaken support for Israel during times of conflict.

It remains unclear whether any formal investigation or charges will emerge from the allegations Carlson described. U.S. intelligence and Justice Department officials have not publicly confirmed the claims.
