IDF Carries Out Multiple Eliminations of Hezbollah Terrorists

The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat and prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing capabilities that endanger Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces said Monday that it eliminated two Hezbollah terrorists in a targeted strike carried out Sunday in the Jmeijmeh area of southern Lebanon.

The strike was directed at terrorists involved in efforts to rebuild the terror group’s military infrastructure.

According to the military, the two Hezbollah terrorists were engaged in attempts to restore military assets, activity the IDF described as a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The army said it will continue to act to remove any threat and prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing capabilities that endanger Israel.

Separately, Lebanese media reported on Monday that an Israeli drone struck a vehicle in the village of Briqueh in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon.

The incident was described as resulting in the elimination of a third Hezbollah terrorist within a 24-hour period.

The actions come against the backdrop of mounting international pressure on Beirut.

A White House deadline that expired as the year ended required Lebanon to demonstrate significant progress in disarming Hezbollah.

U.S. officials have repeatedly warned that failure to dismantle the group’s military infrastructure and comply with the terms of existing ceasefire arrangements could lead to renewed Israeli military operations, amid reports that President Donald Trump has given Israel latitude to act against the Iranian-backed group.
