Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced they will hand over a deceased hostage at 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
According to the announcement, the body was discovered in the Morg axis area, north of Khan Younis.
The two groups are still currently holdng four deceased hostages, in clear violation of the ceasefire agreement.
Earlier, Qatari outlet Al-Arabi reported that Hamas and the Red Cross have resumed searches for Israeli hostages in the Zeitoun neighborhood of eastern Gaza City.
Israeli security officials say Hamas and Islamic Jihad could immediately return two of the deceased hostages.
Israel estimates that the groups themselves do not know the whereabouts of the other two.
