Global Armies Flock to Israel for Firsthand Lessons From its Multi-Front War

Generals and commanders from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, India, Greece, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Estonia, Japan, Morocco, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia have arrived in Israel for the forum.

Israel has opened an intensive war seminar for senior officers from 18 foreign militaries, turning its hard-earned experience from two years of fighting Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Iran into a live classroom. The weeklong program is led by the IDF Ground Forces and centers on what the army calls “the war across all arenas.”

Generals and commanders from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, India, Greece, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Estonia, Japan, Morocco, Romania, Serbia and Slovakia have arrived in Israel for the forum, the IDF said. Some of these governments have publicly backed International Criminal Court moves against Israel, yet their militaries are now on the ground, taking notes from the same IDF they’re used to hearing condemned in diplomatic forums.

According to the army, the goal is to deepen operational cooperation, compare combat doctrines and share professional lessons from Israel’s multi-front campaign. Participants are expected to sit through high-level briefings, war-room style debriefs and field tours that bring them face-to-face with the aftermath of Hamas’s October 7 invasion and the battles that followed in the Gaza Envelope communities. Israeli media reports that the delegations will also meet soldiers and civilians who fought to defend their communities on October 7, grounding the seminar in personal testimony rather than PowerPoint alone.
