L’USS Gerald R. Ford, le plus grand et le plus moderne porte-avions \u00e0 propulsion nucl\u00e9aire au monde, se dirige vers le Moyen-Orient, marquant une escalade significative de la posture militaire am\u00e9ricaine envers l’Iran.<\/p>\n

Le Ford devrait rejoindre l’USS Abraham Lincoln et son groupe a\u00e9ronaval, arriv\u00e9s dans la r\u00e9gion \u00e0 la fin du mois dernier. Ce d\u00e9ploiement porterait \u00e0 deux le nombre de groupes a\u00e9ronavals am\u00e9ricains pr\u00e9sents au Moyen-Orient.<\/p>\n

Plus t\u00f4t cette semaine, le Wall Street Journal a rapport\u00e9 que le Pentagone avait ordonn\u00e9 \u00e0 un deuxi\u00e8me groupe a\u00e9ronaval de se pr\u00e9parer \u00e0 un \u00e9ventuel d\u00e9ploiement, les \u00c9tats-Unis se pr\u00e9parant \u00e0 une action militaire potentielle en cas d’\u00e9chec des n\u00e9gociations avec T\u00e9h\u00e9ran.<\/p>\n

Jeudi, le pr\u00e9sident Donald Trump a relay\u00e9 cette information, confirmant les attentes quant \u00e0 l’envoi d’un deuxi\u00e8me porte-avions dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

Trump a averti \u00e0 plusieurs reprises l’Iran de ce qu’il a d\u00e9crit comme une \u00ab armada massive<\/em> \u00bb se dirigeant vers lui, signalant ainsi sa volont\u00e9 d’utiliser une force militaire \u00e9crasante en cas d’\u00e9chec de la diplomatie. \u00ab Nous avons une armada qui se dirige vers l\u00e0-bas et une autre pourrait bient\u00f4t partir<\/em> \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident mardi.<\/p>\n

Cette d\u00e9claration intervient juste apr\u00e8s une r\u00e9union d’environ trois heures entre le Premier ministre Benjamin Netanyahu et Donald Trump \u00e0 la Maison Blanche. Les discussions ont port\u00e9 principalement sur l’Iran, ainsi que sur Gaza et des enjeux r\u00e9gionaux plus larges.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 l’issue de ces entretiens, Trump a \u00e9crit : \u00ab Aucun accord d\u00e9finitif n’a \u00e9t\u00e9 conclu, si ce n’est que j’ai insist\u00e9 pour que les n\u00e9gociations avec l’Iran se poursuivent afin de d\u00e9terminer si un accord est possible.<\/em> \u00bb Il a ajout\u00e9 : \u00ab Si c’est possible\u2026 ce sera pr\u00e9f\u00e9rable. Sinon, nous verrons bien ce qu’il adviendra.<\/em> \u00bb<\/p>\n

Avant de quitter Washington, Netanyahu a qualifi\u00e9 la visite de \u00ab courte mais importante<\/em> \u00bb, soulignant la \u00ab relation tr\u00e8s \u00e9troite, tr\u00e8s sinc\u00e8re et tr\u00e8s ouverte<\/em> \u00bb qui unit les deux dirigeants.<\/p>\n

Tout en notant que Trump estime que l’Iran comprend d\u00e9sormais \u00ab \u00e0 qui il a affaire<\/em> \u00bb, Netanyahu a exprim\u00e9 un \u00ab scepticisme g\u00e9n\u00e9ral<\/em> \u00bb quant \u00e0 la possibilit\u00e9 d’un accord, insistant sur le fait que tout accord doit aborder non seulement la question nucl\u00e9aire, mais aussi les missiles balistiques et les alli\u00e9s r\u00e9gionaux de l’Iran.<\/p>\n
