Le chef de l’Autorit\u00e9 palestinienne, Mahmoud Abbas, a rencontr\u00e9 mardi le prince h\u00e9ritier saoudien Mohammed ben Salmane dans la ville de Djeddah, sur la mer Rouge.<\/p>\n

La visite du chef du Fatah intervient alors qu’une d\u00e9l\u00e9gation de la faction politique rivale et du groupe terroriste Hamas est \u00e9galement dans le pays.<\/p>\n

Selon l’agence de presse Wafa contr\u00f4l\u00e9e par l’Autorit\u00e9 Palestinienne, Abbas et le prince ont discut\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0des derniers d\u00e9veloppements politiques de la cause palestinienne et de la situation dans le territoire palestinien occup\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n

Hussein al-Sheikh, secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif de l’OLP, et le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de division Majed Faraj, chef du service de renseignement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral palestinien, ont \u00e9galement repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la partie palestinienne \u00e0 la r\u00e9union.<\/p>\n

La d\u00e9l\u00e9gation saoudienne comprenait le ministre de la D\u00e9fense, le prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, le ministre des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res, le prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud et le directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des renseignements, Khalid bin Ali Al Humaidan.<\/p>\n

Abbas est arriv\u00e9 lundi en Arabie saoudite pour la visite o\u00f9 il devait \u00e9galement rencontrer le roi Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud et participer \u00e0 un petit-d\u00e9jeuner de rupture du Ramadan.<\/p>\n

Des hauts responsables du Hamas ont \u00e9t\u00e9 vus en train de faire le p\u00e8lerinage de la Omra \u00e0 La Mecque mardi. Une vid\u00e9o publi\u00e9e sur les r\u00e9seaux sociaux montre le chef du bureau politique du Hamas Ismail Haniyeh, le pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur de Haniyeh Khaled Mashaal et d’autres responsables encerclant la Kaaba \u00e0 l’int\u00e9rieur de la Grande Mosqu\u00e9e de La Mecque.<\/p>\n

Le p\u00e8lerinage de La Mecque pr\u00e9c\u00e8de les pourparlers attendus \u00e0 Riyad entre le Hamas et les responsables saoudiens visant \u00e0 un rapprochement.<\/p>\n

Il s’agit de la premi\u00e8re visite d’une d\u00e9l\u00e9gation officielle du Hamas en Arabie saoudite depuis 2015, et la premi\u00e8re depuis que les saoudiens ont accept\u00e9 en mars de r\u00e9tablir des relations diplomatiques avec l’Iran.<\/p>\n

Les relations entre Riyad et le Hamas ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tendues apr\u00e8s que les saoudiens ont accus\u00e9 le groupe terroriste de l’\u00e9chec de l’accord de La Mecque de 2007, qui \u00e9tait une tentative saoudienne de faciliter la r\u00e9conciliation entre le Hamas et le Fatah.<\/p>\n
