Four Iranians Arrested in London Over Alleged Plot Targeting Jewish Community

The suspects conducted surveillance of locations and individuals connected to London’s Jewish community.

British counterterrorism police arrested four Iranian nationals in north London early Friday morning as part of a long-running investigation into suspected activity linked to Iran’s intelligence services, according to a report by Walla.

The arrests were carried out by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s counterterrorism command following an extended investigation into what authorities described as hostile activity on behalf of the Iranian regime.

All four suspects are Iranian citizens, and three also hold British citizenship.

Investigators believe the suspects were involved in surveillance of locations and individuals connected to London’s Jewish community.

Helen Flanagan, head of counterterrorism policing in London, said the operation was part of broader efforts to disrupt hostile activities linked to foreign actors.

“Today’s arrests are part of a long-running investigation and part of our ongoing work to disrupt hostile activity that we suspect,” Flanagan said.

Six additional men were detained at the same location on suspicion of assisting the suspects.

In total, ten men are currently in custody, and searches are continuing at several locations connected to the investigation, including properties in Wembley.

Authorities have urged members of the public to remain alert as the investigation continues, particularly within communities that may have been targeted.

“We understand that the public may be concerned, especially the Jewish community,” Flanagan said. “We ask people to remain vigilant and to contact us if they see or hear anything that causes concern.”

According to the Walla report, the arrests come amid growing concerns over Iranian threats directed at Jewish communities in London and other cities around the world.
