Desde que Israel se fund\u00f3 en 1948, numerosas guerras han cobrado un alto precio en su peque\u00f1a poblaci\u00f3n. \u00a0La mayor\u00eda de los israel\u00edes han perdido a alguien en el campo de batalla.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El a\u00f1o pasado ha sido a\u00fan m\u00e1s exigente de lo habitual para el estado jud\u00edo, dada la guerra del pasado verano entre Israel y Hamas en Gaza. Durante la Operaci\u00f3n, que comenz\u00f3 como una campa\u00f1a a\u00e9rea antes de su fase terrestre destinado a quebrar la red de t\u00faneles del terror que se ejecutan en la frontera israel\u00ed de Hamas, 66 soldados de las FDI resultaron muertos.<\/p>\n

Establecido extraoficialmente en 1948 y luego oficialmente en 1963, se conmemora en conjunto con Iom Haatzmaut (D\u00eda de la Independencia de Israel), que se celebra al d\u00eda siguiente. Este a\u00f1o, Iom Hazikar\u00f3n y Iom Haatzmaut caen el 22 y\u00a023 de Abril.<\/p>\n

\u00abNo pensamos que ser\u00eda f\u00e1cil cuando decidimos reclamar nuestro derecho a la autodeterminaci\u00f3n nacional despu\u00e9s de 2.000 a\u00f1os\u00bb, dijo Paul Hirschson, un portavoz del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Israel,.<\/p>\n

18 de julio 2014<\/h1>\n

Apenas un d\u00eda despu\u00e9s de que Israel comenzara su operaci\u00f3n terrestre para desmantelar t\u00faneles terroristas de Hamas, las FDI sufri\u00f3 su primera baja de la Operaci\u00f3n. Eitan Barak, 20, de Herzliya, fue asesinado en Beit Hannun en el norte de la Franja de Gaza.<\/p>\n

19 de julio 2014<\/h1>\n

Cuatro soldados israel\u00edes murieron en combate. Dos soldados, el Mayor. (Res.) Amotz Greenburg, 45, de Hod Hasharon, y Sgt. Adar Barsano, 20, de Nahariya, fueron asesinados por un terrorista que se infiltr\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de un t\u00fanel cerca de Kibbutz Kissufim. El sargento. Bnaya Rubel, 20, de Holon, y segundo teniente. Bar Rahat, 21, de Ramat Yishai, tambi\u00e9n murieron en operaciones en Gaza.<\/p>\n

20 de julio 2014<\/h1>\n

En el d\u00eda m\u00e1s sangriento de la lucha durante la operaci\u00f3n de protecci\u00f3n de borde, 13 soldados israel\u00edes de la Brigada Golani murieron en combates en los alrededores del barrio Shujaiyeh en el este de Gaza.<\/p>\n

Cuatro de ellos fueron asesinados por un terrorista de Hamas que se infiltr\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de un t\u00fanel de terror Gaza. Tres paracaidistas murieron despu\u00e9s de entrar en una casa-bomba en Khan Yunis: teniente Paz Eliyahu, 22, del kibutz Evron, el sargento. Li Mat de Eilat, 19, y el sargento. Shahar Dauber, 20, de Kibbutz Ginegar.<\/p>\n

25 de julio 2014<\/h1>\n

Cuatro soldados israel\u00edes perdieron la vida: el sargento. (res.) Yair Ashkenazy, 36, de Rehovot, el sargento. De Guy Levy, de 21 a\u00f1os, de Kfar Vradim, el sargento. Chico Boyland, 21 a\u00f1os, de Kibbutz Ginosar, y el sargento. Amit Yaori, 20, de Jerusalem.<\/p>\n

26 de julio 2014<\/h1>\n

Segundo Teniente Roy Peles, de 21 a\u00f1os, de Tel Aviv, el sargento. Avraham Greentzweig, 21, de Petah Tikva, el sargento. Gal Besson, 21, de Holon, y el Sargento de Primera Clase (res.) Barak Refael Degorker, 27, de Gan Yavne, fueron asesinados en combate.<\/p>\n

ISRAEL-L\u00cdBANO FRONTERA<\/span><\/h1>\n

28 de enero 2015<\/h1>\n

Capt. Yohai Kalangel, 25, y el sargento. Dor Chaim Nini, 20, murieron en un ataque de Hezbol\u00e1 en la frontera entre Israel y L\u00edbano. Un misil antitanque disparado por Hezbollah choc\u00f3 contra un veh\u00edculo de las FDI en la regi\u00f3n de Har Dov, matando a los dos soldados e hiriendo a siete.<\/p>\n

Soldados\u00a0solitarios<\/span><\/h1>\n

Servicio de protecci\u00f3n perimetral, adem\u00e1s, destac\u00f3 el sacrificio especial hecho por los \u00absoldados solitarios\u00bb de Israel que voluntariamente se unen a las FDI mientras que sus familias viven en el extranjero.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Max Steinberg<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nacido\u00a0en\u00a0Los \u00c1ngeles, quien fuera parte de la \u00e9lite de la Brigada Golani de la IDF, Steinberg fue uno de los 13 soldados israel\u00edes muertos en los intensos combates en Shujaiyeh el 20 de julio de 2014. Aproximadamente 30.000 israel\u00edes asistieron al funeral de Steinberg, convirti\u00e9ndose en\u00a0uno de los m\u00e1s grandes de la historia del cementerio militar de Monte Herzl. Posteriormente fue honrado por miles de personas en un memorial en Los \u00c1ngeles.<\/p>\n

Sgt. Nissim Sean Carmeli<\/strong><\/p>\n

Un nativo de South Padre Island, Texas, el 21-a\u00f1os de edad, Carmeli fue tambi\u00e9n uno de los 13 soldados muertos en Shujaiyeh el 20 de julio.
