La escritura hebrea se refiere a \u00e9l como el Kineret, que es tambi\u00e9n su nombre moderno. Tambi\u00e9n es conocido como el Mar de Galilea. Tiene una enorme importancia para jud\u00edos y cristianos.<\/p>\n<p>El mar, situado en el noreste de Israel entre los Altos del Gol\u00e1n y la regi\u00f3n de Galilea, es la mayor fuente de agua dulce en Israel y en el lago de agua dulce m\u00e1s bajo en la tierra. Es alimentado en parte por manantiales subterr\u00e1neos, aunque su principal fuente es el r\u00edo Jord\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>Los ojos de Israel permanecen en el Kinneret en todo momento.
