Poco antes de llegar a Par\u00eds para participar en la manifestaci\u00f3n antiterrorista, el primer ministroBenjam\u00edn Netanyahu record\u00f3 a los jud\u00edos franceses que Israel era su casa<\/strong> y que all\u00ed los esperaban con los brazos abiertos. Israel, dijo, es el hogar de todos los jud\u00edos del mundo.<\/p>\n

Previamente, el fan\u00e1tico islamista Amedi Coulibaly hab\u00eda asesinado a cuatro jud\u00edos en un mercado\u00a0kosher<\/em>. Se piensa que tambi\u00e9n se propon\u00eda matar a unos cuantos ni\u00f1os, estudiantes de una escuela jud\u00eda cercana al mercado.<\/p>\n

En Francia hay en torno a unos 600.000 jud\u00edos.<\/strong> Es menos del 1% de la poblaci\u00f3n, y muchos se sienten en peligro<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Los jud\u00edos llaman \u201chacer ali\u00e1<\/em>\u201d a emigrar a Israel. Hoy, el 28% de los jud\u00edos que hacen ali\u00e1<\/em>\u00a0y se mudan a Israel provienen de Francia<\/strong>, y la tendencia es creciente. En 2012 s\u00f3lo emigraron a Israel 1.923 jud\u00edos franceses. En 2014 fueron 7.000. En 2015 se calcula que ser\u00e1n 10.000.<\/p>\n

Este triste fen\u00f3meno sirve para demostrar cu\u00e1n importante es que Israel siga siendo una naci\u00f3n fundamentalmente jud\u00eda<\/strong>. Cuando, a fines del siglo XIX, comenz\u00f3 la aventura de Israel, lo que los padres fundadores ten\u00edan en mente, con la figura de Teodoro Herzl a la cabeza, era la creaci\u00f3n de un Hogar Jud\u00edo para poder resguardarse del creciente antisemitismo europeo.<\/p>\n

Herzl era un periodista h\u00fangaro de lengua alemana que hab\u00eda visto con horror las manifestaciones callejeras antijud\u00edas, precisamente en Francia.<\/p>\n

Hoy se discute hasta qu\u00e9 punto una naci\u00f3n moderna puede o debe definirse por la etnia mayoritaria que posee, pero no hay duda de que \u00e9ste es un caso excepcional<\/strong>. Quienes han hecho imprescindible la existencia de una naci\u00f3n jud\u00eda son los antisemitas que se han dedicado a perseguir a los jud\u00edos utilizando los m\u00e1s absurdos pretextos.<\/p>\n

Todo se ha dicho contra los jud\u00edos<\/strong>. Circula en internet, y se cita con frecuencia, un panfleto antisemita titulado\u00a0Los protocolos de los sabios de Si\u00f3n,\u00a0<\/em>en el que se describe una supuesta conjura jud\u00eda para dominar el mundo. Aunque desde hace casi un siglo se sabe que es una burda fabricaci\u00f3n de la polic\u00eda zarista para justificar los pogromos, se contin\u00faa reeditando y sigue siendo un\u00a0best<\/em>\u00a0seller<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Hoy son los yihadistas isl\u00e1micos, ayer fueron los nazis, y en el pasado la persecuci\u00f3n estuvo a cargo de los cat\u00f3licos conservadores o de otras denominaciones cristianas, pero, lamentablemente, nunca han faltado los enemigos encarnizados del pueblo jud\u00edo. Por eso fue imprescindible crear Israel. Ni siquiera era una cuesti\u00f3n religiosa. Teodoro Herzl, incluso, era ateo. Se trataba de crear un refugio para proteger a unas personas que desde hace siglo sufren las m\u00e1s atroces e irracionales persecuciones.<\/p>\n

Como tantas veces se ha dicho, si no existiera Israel, habr\u00eda que inventarlo como lo que fue y sigue siendo: un hogar jud\u00edo. Un sitio en el que los ni\u00f1os de ese origen puedan vivir sin miedo a que un energ\u00fameno los mate. \u00bfQui\u00e9n puede oponerse a ese objetivo?<\/strong><\/p>\n
