En menos de dos semanas, el 27 de enero, el mundo celebrar\u00e1 el D\u00eda Internacional de Conmemoraci\u00f3n en Memoria de las V\u00edctimas del Holocausto, y a\u00fan hay supervivientes que pueden atestiguar de primera mano el horror. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La semana pasada se anunci\u00f3 que el \u00faltimo sobreviviente del campo de exterminio de Sobibor, muri\u00f3 en Rusia.<\/p>\n

Ludmila Zakharova, jefe de la comunidad jud\u00eda en Ryazan en Rusia, ha anunciado que Alexei Weitzen, considerado el \u00faltimo sobreviviente de Sobibor, muri\u00f3 a la edad de 92.<\/p>\n

Weitzen, perdi\u00f3 a toda su familia en los campos de la muerte nazis, fu\u00e9 prisionero en Sobibor durante un a\u00f1o y tres meses, y tom\u00f3 parte en la revuelta de prisioneros que tuvo lugar en octubre de 1943.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de la guerra, compareci\u00f3 como testigo ante el tribunal durante el juicio a los comandantes de los campos de la muerte, donde exterminaron a unos 200.000 Judios.<\/p>\n

Tambi\u00e9n fue el \u00fanico sobreviviente que ha visto con sus propios ojos a Ivan Demjanjuk en Sobibor. Durante el juicio a Demjanjuk en Munich en 2010, Weitzen reconoci\u00f3 que este era realmente \u201cIv\u00e1n el Terrible\u00bb que sirvi\u00f3 como guardia en el campo de la muerte.<\/p>\n

Recibi\u00f3 sepultura en Ryazan el\u00a0viernes pasado.<\/p>\n
