Hace unos d\u00edas, la joven Aviv Weizmann, de 17 a\u00f1os, de Kiryat Motzkin, cerca de Haifa, particip\u00f3 en una excavaci\u00f3n arqueol\u00f3gica de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, en el antiguo sitio de Usha, en el marco de un curso para j\u00f3venes, y descubri\u00f3 un objeto excepcional del periodo Bizantino, un \u201cespejo m\u00e1gico\u201d de 1.500 a\u00f1os.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Durante el curso, los l\u00edderes juveniles realizaron una caminata de supervivencia de 90 kil\u00f3metros, del Monte Mer\u00f3n al Monte Mer\u00f3n. En el transcurso de la caminata, los j\u00f3venes participaron de excavaciones arqueol\u00f3gicas de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, en sitios ubicados a lo largo del pa\u00eds, que en un futuro, ser\u00e1n abiertos al p\u00fablico.<\/p>\n

Uno de los lugares excavados por los j\u00f3venes, fue el sitio de Usha, pr\u00f3ximo a Kiryat Ata, dirigido por la arque\u00f3loga de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, Hanaa Abu Uqsa Abud. Esta semana, la excavaci\u00f3n produjo un hallazgo especial: un fragmento de cer\u00e1mica inusual que asomaba del suelo entre e las paredes de un edificio. Aviv descubri\u00f3 el fragmento y lo tom\u00f3, y se lo mostr\u00f3 a la Dra. Einata Ambar-Armon, directora del Centro de Educaci\u00f3n del Norte, de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, quien reconoci\u00f3 el hallazgo como la placa de un espejo m\u00e1gico.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan Navit Popovitch, curadora de Per\u00edodos Cl\u00e1sicos de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, \u201cel fragmento es parte de un \u201cespejo m\u00e1gico\u201d del periodo Bizantino, siglos IV-VI de la era com\u00fan. En el centro de la placa se coloc\u00f3 un espejo de vidrio, para la protecci\u00f3n contra el mal de ojo: la idea era que el esp\u00edritu malo, como un demonio, que se mirara en el espejo, viera su propio reflejo, y esto proteger\u00eda al due\u00f1o del espejo. Placas de espejo similares han sido encontradas en el pasado como regalos funerarios en las tumbas, con el fin de proteger al fallecido en su viaje al mundo venidero\u201d.<\/p>\n

Eli Shayish, director de Estudios de la Tierra de Israel, del Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n, expres\u00f3: \u201cLa participaci\u00f3n de los alumnos en las excavaciones arqueol\u00f3gicas profundiza su sentimiento de pertenencia al pa\u00eds y a su patrimonio\u201d.<\/p>\n

Eli Escusido, director de la Autoridad de Antig\u00fcedades de Israel, se\u00f1al\u00f3: \u201dDurante la semana de la larga caminata, los l\u00edderes j\u00f3venes descubrieron m\u00e1s hallazgos, entre ellos, frascos de cer\u00e1mica, monedas, fragmentos de piedras decoradas, e incluso un acueducto de agua. La historia, que generalmente es ensenada en el aula, cobra vida desde el suelo. Un alumno que descubre un hallazgo en el curso de una excavaci\u00f3n, nunca habr\u00e1 de olvidar la experiencia. No hay mejor manera para unir a la juventud con su pa\u00eds y su patrimonio\u201d<\/p>\n
