No obstante, m\u00e1s del 70% de la energ\u00eda que el sol pone a nuestra disposici\u00f3n es desperdiciada en las c\u00e9lulas fotovoltaicas convencionales. Existen pocas esperanzas de un avance tecnol\u00f3gico sostenible sin abordar esta cuesti\u00f3n.<\/strong><\/p>\n

La temperatura operativa, es un factor cr\u00edtico en la capacidad de las c\u00e9lulas solares de convertir la luz solar en energ\u00eda libre. Conforme a ello, muchas investigaciones han sido dirigidas la comprensi\u00f3n de los efectos de la temperatura en la eficiencia de las c\u00e9lulas fotovoltaicas solares. Sorprendentemente, sin embargo, es poco lo que se sabe sobre cu\u00e1l acabar\u00eda siendo dicha temperatura.<\/p>\n

En un art\u00edculo titulado \u201cEl efecto del mantenimiento de una temperatura ambiente fija en la evaluaci\u00f3n del rendimiento de los dispositivos fotovoltaicos\u201d, publicado en Phys. Rev. Appl. la semana pasada, investigadores del Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n de Energ\u00eda Solar de la Universidad Ben Guri\u00f3n del N\u00e9guev, responden este interrogante equilibrando los \u00edndices de fotones y energ\u00eda del efecto fotovoltaico.<\/p>\n

Su nuevo enfoque teoriza una fluctuaci\u00f3n de la temperatura, en respuesta al calor producido por la absorci\u00f3n de la luz y la conexi\u00f3n a una temperatura ambiente fija, mientras que los an\u00e1lisis actuales est\u00e1n basados en la premisa de que la temperatura de la c\u00e9lula permanecer\u00eda fija independientemente de sus condiciones de funcionamiento.<\/p>\n

La s\u00f3lida comprensi\u00f3n te\u00f3rica es un requisito previo, a fin de lograr avances tecnol\u00f3gicos significativos. Por ende, iluminar los aspectos ocultos de los efectos fotovoltaicos contribuye a hacer realidad los conceptos disruptivos, como las c\u00e9lulas termorradiativas y termofot\u00f3nicas\u201d, afirma el director de la investigaci\u00f3n, Dr. Avi Niv.<\/p>\n

Las c\u00e9lulas termorradiativas y termofot\u00f3nicas son concepciones avanzadas de la conversi\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda a fotovoltaica que permiten recuperar el calor residual de los procesos industriales (termorradiativas) o son m\u00e1s eficientes, a la hora de convertir el flujo de energ\u00eda radiativa solar en electricidad (termofot\u00f3nicas)<\/p>\n
