En un procedimiento inusual, los m\u00e9dicos del Centro M\u00e9dico Shaarei Zedek de Jerusal\u00e9n retiraron un anillo atorado en la garganta de un ni\u00f1o de dos a\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n

El ni\u00f1o se quejaba de dolor en la boca y se negaba a comer, diciendo a sus padres que se hab\u00eda tragado un anillo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los padres, residentes del barrio de Shuafat, en el este de Jerusal\u00e9n, llevaron inmediatamente al ni\u00f1o a una cl\u00ednica local, donde una radiograf\u00eda mostr\u00f3 que el anillo estaba atorado en la garganta del ni\u00f1o. El personal de la cl\u00ednica envi\u00f3 a la familia a Shaare Zedek para que le quitaran el anillo. Aunque el ni\u00f1o no ten\u00eda dificultad para respirar, al personal le preocupaba que los bordes irregulares del anillo pudieran da\u00f1ar el es\u00f3fago.<\/span><\/p>\n

Especialistas del departamento de otorrinolaringolog\u00eda del hospital realizaron una operaci\u00f3n de urgencia bajo anestesia general, extray\u00e9ndole con \u00e9xito el anillo. El ni\u00f1o peque\u00f1o fue entregado a su casa despu\u00e9s de un d\u00eda de observaci\u00f3n en buenas condiciones.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAfortunadamente para Adam, el anillo se atasc\u00f3 en el es\u00f3fago proximal y no hubo peligro de asfixia\u201d, explic\u00f3 la Dra. Anat Dinor, cirujana de cabeza y cuello y m\u00e9dica principal en el departamento de otorrinolaringolog\u00eda que trat\u00f3 al ni\u00f1o.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSin embargo, la principal preocupaci\u00f3n en el caso de tragar un cuerpo extra\u00f1o con bordes dentados o afilados es que puede causar una perforaci\u00f3n (agujero) del es\u00f3fago ya que est\u00e1 atrapado en la pared. En el quir\u00f3fano, bajo anestesia general, se extrajo el cuerpo extra\u00f1o con un endoscopio r\u00edgido\u201d, dijo el Dr. Dinor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de regresar a casa, el padre del ni\u00f1o llam\u00f3 a los m\u00e9dicos para agradecerles y decirles que \u201cAdam hab\u00eda vuelto a sonre\u00edr y comer\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEste incidente nos record\u00f3 que debemos tener cuidado y cuidar a nuestros peque\u00f1os\u201d, dijo el padre.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Dr. Dinor enfatiz\u00f3 que el incidente destaca los peligros de que los ni\u00f1os se traguen otros art\u00edculos peque\u00f1os, en particular las pilas que se encuentran com\u00fanmente en los juegos infantiles.<\/span><\/p>\n
