Netanel Levi, de 21 a\u00f1os, gan\u00f3 el partido el lunes despu\u00e9s de solo un movimiento cuando Amin Tabatabaei, un gran maestro iran\u00ed de 21 a\u00f1os, se neg\u00f3 a competir contra \u00e9l.<\/p>\n

Tabatabaei no emiti\u00f3 un comunicado explicando su decisi\u00f3n, pero los observadores en el Sunway Chess Festival en Barcelona dijeron a los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n locales que estaba preocupado por posibles represalias del r\u00e9gimen gobernante una vez que regresara a Ir\u00e1n. Ni el Bayern de M\u00fanich ni la FIDE han comentado hasta ahora la decisi\u00f3n de Tabatabaei.<\/p>\n

En 2020, la Federaci\u00f3n Inglesa de Ajedrez intent\u00f3 presentar una resoluci\u00f3n en la FIDE que habr\u00eda suspendido autom\u00e1ticamente a la Federaci\u00f3n de Ajedrez de Ir\u00e1n en caso de que sus jugadores se negaran o se les impidiera jugar contra oponentes israel\u00edes. Sin embargo, la FIDE aprob\u00f3 una versi\u00f3n suavizada que no sanciona a Ir\u00e1n por su pol\u00edtica de boicot, sino que simplemente se\u00f1ala que \u201ctales incidentes obligar\u00e1n a la FIDE a imponer castigos espec\u00edficos que pueden da\u00f1ar a los jugadores de ajedrez\u201d.<\/p>\n
