El presidente Isaac Herzog pidi\u00f3 a los l\u00edderes jud\u00edos estadounidenses que respeten los resultados de las elecciones de ma\u00f1ana, incluso si \u00abno son de su agrado\u00bb, en una referencia velada a la posibilidad de que se forme un gobierno que incluya a los religiosos de extrema derecha.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueridos amigos, ma\u00f1ana los israel\u00edes saldr\u00e1n a votar. S\u00e9 que la frecuencia de las elecciones en Israel es algo desconcertante, y estoy al tanto de las preguntas planteadas en muchas comunidades jud\u00edas de todo el mundo sobre el resultado de las elecciones\u201d, dijo Herzog en un video dirigido a la Asamblea General de las Federaciones Jud\u00edas de Am\u00e9rica del Norte.<\/p>\n

\u201cLos resultados pueden o no ser de su agrado, pero se debe respetar el voto del pueblo israel\u00ed. M\u00e1s all\u00e1 de esto, les digo a todos y cada uno de ustedes que la conexi\u00f3n firme y vital entre el Estado de Israel y los jud\u00edos de Am\u00e9rica del Norte no se ver\u00e1 comprometida, ni deber\u00eda verse comprometida, independientemente de los resultados\u201d, dice.<\/p>\n

En las \u00faltimas semanas, grupos jud\u00edos estadounidenses han expresado su preocupaci\u00f3n a los funcionarios israel\u00edes por la posibilidad de que el partido Sionismo Religioso forme parte del gobierno.<\/p>\n

Bezalel Smotrich e Itamar Ben-Gvir, los l\u00edderes de esa facci\u00f3n, han expresado ideas sobre la comunidad LGBTQI+, la secularidad y los \u00e1rabes-israel\u00edes que chocan con la perspectiva m\u00e1s liberal de la mayor\u00eda de los jud\u00edos estadounidenses.<\/p>\n
