Israel celebrar\u00e1 su quinta elecci\u00f3n en cuatro a\u00f1os el pr\u00f3ximo 1 de noviembre. M\u00e1s de seis millones de ciudadanos israel\u00edes mayores de 18 a\u00f1os: jud\u00edos, \u00e1rabes, drusos, cristianos, circasianos, arameos, et\u00edopes, rusos, anglosajones, hombres y mujeres, religiosos y laicos, sabras y olim, etc.- son elegibles para votar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Israel no permite el voto en el extranjero, excepto para el personal de las misiones diplom\u00e1ticas de todo el mundo. Alrededor de 4.500 miembros del personal diplom\u00e1tico emitir\u00e1n su voto esta semana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Votar en s\u00ed es un asunto de \u00abbaja tecnolog\u00eda\u00bb. Los votantes se presentan en su mesa de votaci\u00f3n designada donde se les entrega un sobre. Dentro de cada puesto hay una bandeja con tiras de papel con el nombre del partido y un s\u00edmbolo de 1 a 4 letras. Los votantes toman una papeleta que representa a su partido de elecci\u00f3n, la sellan en el sobre y colocan el sobre dentro de una urna azul.<\/span><\/p>\n

Un total de 40 listas presentaron sus candidaturas al Comit\u00e9 Electoral Central y tendr\u00e1n papeletas en las cabinas. Un partido debe recibir un m\u00ednimo del 3,25% de los votos para ocupar un esca\u00f1o en la Knesset de 120 esca\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n

A nueve d\u00edas del final, las encuestas indican una re\u00f1ida carrera entre el bloque de centroizquierda encabezado por el primer ministro interino Yair Lapid del partido Yesh Atid y el bloque de derecha encabezado por el exprimer ministro Benjamin Netanyahu del partido Likud.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los palestinos que viven en la Autoridad Palestina no son ciudadanos israel\u00edes y votan en las elecciones de la Autoridad Palestina.
