Es una fiesta de siete d\u00edas, siendo el Primer d\u00eda Santo (primero y segundo para las personas que residan fuera de Israel), al igual que el s\u00e1bado, en la que no se permite ning\u00fan trabajo. Fuera de Israel los dos primeros d\u00edas se observan como d\u00edas santos, y este a\u00f1o se pega el Shabbat, as\u00ed que son tres d\u00edas santos.<\/p>\n<p>El resto de los d\u00edas de la fiesta se les conoce como \u00abChol Hamoed\u00bb. Los d\u00edas de Chol Hamoed no son d\u00edas santos absolutos, pero se les trata con m\u00e1s santidad que los d\u00edas de semana regulares mediante\u00a0platos muy elaborados y ropa bonita.\u00a0Los viajes familiares son comunes en estos d\u00edas.\u00a0En la conclusi\u00f3n de Sukkot hay otro d\u00eda de fiesta, Shemin\u00ed Atzeret. Sobre esto detallar\u00e9 m\u00e1s la pr\u00f3xima semana.<\/p>\n<p>Originalmente Sukkot era m\u00e1s bien una festividad agr\u00edcola, como la propia Tor\u00e1 lo llama: \u00abLa fiesta de la cosecha\u201d &#8230; cuando hayas recogido tus labores del campo.\u00a0(Ver: \u00c9xodo 23:16; Lev\u00edtico 23:40-43, Deuteronomio 16:13).\u00a0Era una fiesta de acci\u00f3n de gracias a Dios por la cosecha del a\u00f1o. <b>Actualmente, se observa m\u00e1s como unas vacaciones de descanso y reflexi\u00f3n para los milagros que Di-s hizo para el pueblo jud\u00edo cuando los llev\u00f3 por el desierto durante cuarenta a\u00f1os.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b style=\"font-size: 13px; line-height: 19px;\">La palabra \u00abSucot\u00bb significa \u00abcaba\u00f1as\u00bb.
