Viviendo la Tor\u00e1, por el rabino Ari Enkin<\/p>\n

Sucot es una maravillosa fiesta alegre – uno de las tres festividad de la Tor\u00e1 en la que los jud\u00edos de todas partes estaban obligados a hacer una peregrinaci\u00f3n hacia Jerusalem. Es una fiesta de siete d\u00edas, siendo el Primer d\u00eda Santo (primero y segundo para las personas que residan fuera de Israel), al igual que el s\u00e1bado, en la que no se permite ning\u00fan trabajo. Fuera de Israel los dos primeros d\u00edas se observan como d\u00edas santos, y este a\u00f1o se pega el Shabbat, as\u00ed que son tres d\u00edas santos.<\/p>\n

El resto de los d\u00edas de la fiesta se les conoce como \u00abChol Hamoed\u00bb. Los d\u00edas de Chol Hamoed no son d\u00edas santos absolutos, pero se les trata con m\u00e1s santidad que los d\u00edas de semana regulares mediante\u00a0platos muy elaborados y ropa bonita.\u00a0Los viajes familiares son comunes en estos d\u00edas.\u00a0En la conclusi\u00f3n de Sukkot hay otro d\u00eda de fiesta, Shemin\u00ed Atzeret. Sobre esto detallar\u00e9 m\u00e1s la pr\u00f3xima semana.<\/p>\n

Originalmente Sukkot era m\u00e1s bien una festividad agr\u00edcola, como la propia Tor\u00e1 lo llama: \u00abLa fiesta de la cosecha\u201d … cuando hayas recogido tus labores del campo.\u00a0(Ver: \u00c9xodo 23:16; Lev\u00edtico 23:40-43, Deuteronomio 16:13).\u00a0Era una fiesta de acci\u00f3n de gracias a Dios por la cosecha del a\u00f1o. Actualmente, se observa m\u00e1s como unas vacaciones de descanso y reflexi\u00f3n para los milagros que Di-s hizo para el pueblo jud\u00edo cuando los llev\u00f3 por el desierto durante cuarenta a\u00f1os.<\/b><\/p>\n

La palabra \u00abSucot\u00bb significa \u00abcaba\u00f1as\u00bb. Todos estamos obligados a comer ah\u00ed las comidas durante el transcurso de la fiesta, y preferiblemente a dormir en ellos tambi\u00e9n.<\/b>\u00a0Lo que es \u00fanico acerca de estas \u201ccaba\u00f1as\u201d es que son estructuras de pared, por lo general de madera o lienzo, pero sus techos deben ser de \u00abschach\u00bb – material org\u00e1nico crecido de la tierra, tales como brotes de bamb\u00fa, ramas u hojas de palma.<\/span><\/p>\n

Comer y dormir en la suc\u00e1 pretende recordarnos las caba\u00f1as que los jud\u00edos construyeron para s\u00ed mismos<\/b>\u00a0mientras deambulaban por el desierto durante cuarenta a\u00f1os.\u00a0Tambi\u00e9n recuerda las \u00abnubes de gloria\u00bb que acompa\u00f1aron al pueblo jud\u00edo a lo largo de su traves\u00eda del desierto,<\/b>\u00a0la protecci\u00f3n contra los elementos y otros peligros que acechaban en el suelo del desierto.<\/p>\n

Otra caracter\u00edstica destacada de Sucot es el Lulav y Etrog, tambi\u00e9n conocida como las \u00abCuatro Especies\u00bb.\u00a0Se trata de cuatro plantas espec\u00edficas que se realizan durante el curso de las oraciones de Sukkot.\u00a0Las cuatro especies son: El Lulav (una hoja de alta de un \u00e1rbol de palmera datilera), el Hadas (hojas de mirto), el Arava (hojas de sauce), y el etrog (una fruta lim\u00f3n).\u00a0Se ense\u00f1a que las cuatro especies representan los cuatro tipos de caracteres entre los jud\u00edos.<\/p>\n

El Lulav es una planta que tiene gusto, pero sin olor – que simboliza los que estudian la Tor\u00e1 pero no hac\u00edan las suficientes buenas acciones, el Hadass tiene un buen olor, pero no tiene sabor – que simboliza los que hacen muchas buenas obras, pero se niegan a estudiar la Tor\u00e1 tanto como es debido, el Arava no tiene ni sabor ni olor – que simboliza a los que faltan, tanto en el estudio de la Tor\u00e1 y el cumplimiento de las buenas obras y el Etrog tiene tanto un buen sabor y un buen olor – que simboliza los que estudian la Tor\u00e1 y realizar buenas acciones.<\/span><\/p>\n
