Los dos pilotos israel\u00edes, que fallecieron al estrellarse un helic\u00f3ptero de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de Israel frente a la costa de Haifa, fueron identificados como el teniente coronel Erez Sachyani y el mayor Jen Fogel.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

El teniente coronel Sachyani, de 38 a\u00f1os, era subcomandante de la base de Ramat David. Viv\u00eda en el vecindario de Majan\u00e9 Iehudit en la base Ramat David con su esposa y sus tres hijos.<\/p>\n

El mayor Fogel, de 27 a\u00f1os, del Escuadr\u00f3n 193 (conocido como el Escuadr\u00f3n de Helic\u00f3pteros de la Marina) era oriundo de Haifa.<\/p>\n

Un tercer miembro de la tripulaci\u00f3n, que logr\u00f3 salir del aparato, fue rescatado y evacuado al Hospital Rambam de Haifa con heridas moderadas. Fuentes del hospital dijeron que estaba consciente y estable.<\/p>\n

Equipos de rescate de las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) extrajeron a los dos pilotos de la aeronave y les aplicaron t\u00e9cnicas de resucitaci\u00f3n, pero no lograron revivirlos.<\/p>\n

En la operaci\u00f3n de b\u00fasqueda y rescate participaron fuerzas especiales de las FDI, entre ellos la Unidad 669, el comando \u201cShayetet\u201d (Flotilla) 13 y la unidad Yaltam de buceo de la Armada.<\/p>\n

El helic\u00f3ptero que se estrell\u00f3 era del tipo Eurocopter AS565 Panther, conocido en la Fuerza A\u00e9rea de Israel como \u201cAtalef\u201d (murci\u00e9lago), y es empleado fundamentalmente para misiones en el mar. B\u00e1sicamente, est\u00e1 preparado para aterrizar en corbetas misil\u00edstica clase SAAR-5.<\/p>\n

En la aeronave se desplazaban tres militares. Generalmente, en este tipo de helic\u00f3ptero tiene como tripulaci\u00f3n al piloto, el copiloto y un oficial de la marina, a cargo del radar y otras tareas.<\/p>\n

El helic\u00f3ptero se estrell\u00f3 en el Mar Mediterr\u00e1neo cerca del puerto de Haifa, lo suficientemente cerca como para que los habitantes de la zona pudiesen observar las llamas desde la playa y llamaran a la polic\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Las fuerzas de rescate extrajeron de las aguas al oficial que sobrevivi\u00f3 a 1,5 kil\u00f3metros de la costa y lo evacuaron a la base naval de Haifa, desde donde una ambulancia lo traslad\u00f3 al Hospital Rambam, consciente, pero en estado de hipotermia.<\/p>\n

El comandante de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea, Amikam Norkin, orden\u00f3 suspender los vuelos de todos los helic\u00f3pteros \u201cAtalef\u201d y design\u00f3 una comisi\u00f3n especial para investigar el accidente.<\/p>\n

Se estima que el siniestro fue provocado por un desperfecto t\u00e9cnico, pero a\u00fan se desconocen las causas espec\u00edficas.<\/p>\n

Fragmentos de la aeronave arrastrados por las olas fueron encontrados en la playa, poco despu\u00e9s del incidente.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan fuentes castrenses, el helic\u00f3ptero estaba realizando un ejercicio de entrenamiento cuando se estrell\u00f3 en el mar.<\/p>\n
