No hay duda de que el pueblo de Guatemala ha desarrollado una relaci\u00f3n especial con Israel. El estado jud\u00edo ha desempe\u00f1ado un papel enorme en ayudar al pa\u00eds del tercer mundo a desarrollar su econom\u00eda al proporcionar ayuda humanitaria, ayuda en casos de desastre, recursos h\u00eddricos limpios, capacitaci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola, medicina y conocimientos tecnol\u00f3gicos.<\/span><\/p>\n

La buena voluntad de los guatemaltecos hacia Israel tambi\u00e9n se ve reforzada por el hecho de que m\u00e1s del 50% de su poblaci\u00f3n es evang\u00e9lica.<\/span><\/p>\n

A su vez, los guatemaltecos han sido un amigo confiable. Adem\u00e1s de ser un aliado ac\u00e9rrimo del Estado jud\u00edo en la ONU (votan en contra de casi todas las resoluciones antiisrael\u00edes), el 16 de mayo de 2018 se convirtieron en el segundo pa\u00eds en trasladar su embajada a Jerusalem despu\u00e9s de Estados Unidos (que hab\u00eda hecho tan solo dos d\u00edas antes).<\/span><\/p>\n

Ser el <\/span>segundo pa\u00eds en reconocer<\/span><\/a> la Ciudad Santa como la capital leg\u00edtima de Israel fue una gran noticia en s\u00ed misma, pero ahora los guatemaltecos lo han llevado al siguiente nivel, no solo reconociendo la verdad, \u00a1sino proclam\u00e1ndola en voz alta para que todos la escuchen!<\/span><\/p>\n

En una medida sin precedentes, 27 ciudades del pa\u00eds han nombrado oficialmente una calle de su municipio como \u00abJerusalem, la capital de Israel\u00bb, incluida la Ciudad de Guatemala (la capital del pa\u00eds). Matanya Cohen, embajadora de Israel en Guatemala, cree que para el pr\u00f3ximo verano, 34 ciudades (el 10% de todas las ciudades del pa\u00eds) tendr\u00e1n una calle con este nombre.<\/span><\/p>\n

Si bien Guatemala es el primer pa\u00eds en tomar esta iniciativa, los embajadores de Israel en varios pa\u00edses tienen la esperanza de que otros sigan sus pasos.<\/span><\/p>\n
