El ministerio de Exteriores llam\u00f3 a consultas a su diplom\u00e1tico de mayor rango en Varsovia en protesta por la aprobaci\u00f3n en Polonia de una ley que restringe los derechos de los sobrevivientes del Holocausto y sus descendientes para recuperar propiedades confiscadas por el r\u00e9gimen comunista, que gobern\u00f3 el pa\u00eds europeo desde la Segunda Guerra Mundial hasta 1989.<\/p>\n

El ministro de Exteriores, Yair Lapid, manifest\u00f3 indignado que \u201cNo es la primera vez que Polonia aprueba una ley antisemita e inmoral\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u00abHoy Polonia se ha convertido en un pa\u00eds antidemocr\u00e1tico y antiliberal que no respeta la mayor tragedia de la historia de la humanidad\u00bb, denunci\u00f3 el jefe de la diplomacia israel\u00ed.<\/p>\n

\u201cNunca debemos permanecer en silencio. Israel y el pueblo jud\u00edo definitivamente no guardar\u00e1n silencio\u201d, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Lapid.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe instruido al encargado de negocios de la Embajada de Israel en Varsovia que regrese a Israel de inmediato a consultas por tiempo indefinido\u201d, explic\u00f3.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl nuevo embajador en Polonia, que deb\u00eda partir pronto para Varsovia, no partir\u00e1 a Polonia en esta etapa\u201d.<\/p>\n

El ministro Lapid aconsej\u00f3 al embajador de Polonia en Israel a permanecer de vacaciones en su pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

\u201cEse tiempo deber\u00eda ser usado para explicar al pueblo de Polonia el significado que el Holocausto tiene para los ciudadanos de Israel, y hasta que punto nos negaremos a tolerar cualquier desprecio a la memoria del Holocausto y sus v\u00edctimas\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cEstamos manteniendo discusiones con los estadounidenses para coordinar el futuro de la respuesta\u201d.<\/p>\n

El presidente de Polonia, Andrej Duda, aprob\u00f3 la ley; a pesar de la f\u00e9rrea oposici\u00f3n de Israel y Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n

La ley no menciona ni la Segunda Guerra Mundial ni el Holocausto, pero establece que toda decisi\u00f3n gubernamental tomada hace 30 a\u00f1os o m\u00e1s no puede ser desafiadas lo que implica que los due\u00f1os de propiedades jud\u00edas y no jud\u00edas confiscadas por el r\u00e9gimen comunista no podr\u00e1n reclamar por sus pertenencias ni recibir compensaciones.<\/p>\n

El primer ministro, Naftal\u00ed Bennett, manifest\u00f3 que la aprobaci\u00f3n de la ley es una \u201cdecisi\u00f3n vergonzosa y un desprecio ignominioso por la memoria del Holocausto\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u00abIsrael ve con gravedad la aprobaci\u00f3n de una ley que impide que los jud\u00edos reciban una compensaci\u00f3n por las propiedades que les robaron durante el Holocausto, y lamenta el hecho de que Polonia opte por seguir perjudicando a quienes lo han perdido todo\u00bb, declar\u00f3 Bennett.<\/p>\n

\u00abEsta es una decisi\u00f3n vergonzosa y un desprecio ignominioso por la memoria del Holocausto\u00bb, asever\u00f3, y la calific\u00f3 como \u00abuna medida grave que Israel no podr\u00e1 aceptar a la ligera\u00bb.<\/p>\n

En la misma sinton\u00eda, el ministro de Defensa, Benny Gantz, dijo que estaba \u00abprofundamente molesto\u00bb por la aprobaci\u00f3n de la ley.<\/p>\n

\u201cComo hijo de sobrevivientes del Holocausto, estoy profundamente perturbado por la ley aprobada en Polonia que impide efectivamente que se haga justicia para las v\u00edctimas del Holocausto y sus familias\u201d, dijo.<\/p>\n

\u201cLa restituci\u00f3n de la propiedad es una parte peque\u00f1a pero significativa del proceso para cumplir con los derechos de quienes han sobrevivido y reconocer a quienes han perecido en uno de los genocidios m\u00e1s grandes del mundo\u201d, agreg\u00f3, e inst\u00f3 a sus \u201csocios internacionales a que condenen esa medida\u201d.<\/p>\n
