El Ministerio de Salud nombr\u00f3 a Salman Zarka como nuevo responsable del Covid-19. Se trata de la tercera persona en asumir el puesto desde el comienzo de la pandemia.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Zarka, de 57 a\u00f1os, se desempe\u00f1aba hasta ahora como director del Centro M\u00e9dico Ziv, en la ciudad de Safed. Reemplaza a Nachman Ash, que asumir\u00e1 como director general del Ministerio.<\/p>\n

Zarka pertenece a la comunidad beduina, y tendr\u00e1 ahora la tarea de coordinar la respuesta oficial al rebrote de COVID-19 empujado por la variante Delta. Despu\u00e9s de lo que parec\u00eda un triunfo seguro, Israel volvi\u00f3 a anotar m\u00e1s de 700 casos diarios de la enfermedad.<\/p>\n

El ministro de Salud, Nitzan Horowitz elogi\u00f3 a Zarka en su presentaci\u00f3n. \u00abNo tengo ninguna duda de que la vasta experiencia y habilidades del profesor Zarka ser\u00e1n un gran activo para nosotros en el Ministerio de Salud y para todos los ciudadanos israel\u00edes\u00bb, asegur\u00f3.<\/p>\n

El nuevo \u00abzar\u00bb, como se suele llamar en la jerga, fue general de divisi\u00f3n en las reservas de las FDI y participa del panel asesor de expertos en coronavirus. Con un mag\u00edster en epidemiolog\u00eda y salud p\u00fablica, el pa\u00eds confiar\u00e1 en \u00e9l para volver a vencer a la pandemia.<\/p>\n
