Diez d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de que las principales cadenas de televisi\u00f3n de los Estados Unidos declararan como ganador de las elecciones a Joe Biden, el primer ministro de Israel Benjamin Netanyahu y el presidente Reuven Rivlin llamaron el martes por la noche al l\u00edder dem\u00f3crata para felicitarlo por su victoria en dos llamadas telef\u00f3nicas separadas.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ambos se refirieron al ex vicepresidente de EE.UU. como el presidente electo \u2013 una primicia para Netanyahu \u2013 poniendo fin a una larga saga en la que Israel fue visto como no dispuesto a tomar una posici\u00f3n sobre el resultado de las elecciones.<\/p>\n

Aunque Netanyahu hab\u00eda felicitado previamente a Biden en una declaraci\u00f3n general, no hab\u00eda dicho el cargo por la disputa que a\u00fan mantiene con el Presidente actual Donald Trump, quien se niega a reconocer la derrota electoral y recurri\u00f3 a la justicia para revisar los resultados.<\/p>\n

Descrita por la Oficina del Primer Ministro como una \u00abc\u00e1lida conversaci\u00f3n\u00bb, la llamada de Biden y Netanyahu fue programada al parecer hace varios d\u00edas. Seg\u00fan se dijo, dur\u00f3 unos 20 minutos, e incluy\u00f3 un compromiso conjunto de ambos de reunirse en un futuro pr\u00f3ximo.<\/p>\n

La oficina de Netanyahu emiti\u00f3 una breve declaraci\u00f3n sobre la llamada, que dec\u00eda en su totalidad: \u00abEl Primer Ministro Netanyahu habl\u00f3 esta tarde con el Presidente electo de los EE.UU. Joe Biden. En una c\u00e1lida conversaci\u00f3n, el Presidente electo reiter\u00f3 su profundo compromiso con el Estado de Israel y su seguridad. Las noticias del Canal 13 informaron que la llamada de Biden-Rivlin, \u00abcuriosamente\u00bb, tuvo lugar antes de la llamada de Netanyahu-Biden.<\/p>\n

La oficina de Rivlin fue, por tanto, la primera en emitir una declaraci\u00f3n, en la que informaba de que, en su conversaci\u00f3n, el presidente israel\u00ed salud\u00f3 al presidente electo de los Estados Unidos como \u00abun amigo de larga data del Estado de Israel\u00bb, subray\u00f3 que las relaciones van \u00abm\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la pol\u00edtica partidista\u00bb y dijo que Israel \u00abno ten\u00eda ninguna duda de que, bajo su liderazgo, los Estados Unidos est\u00e1n comprometidos con la seguridad y el \u00e9xito de Israel\u00bb.<\/p>\n<\/a>
