Seg\u00fan las encuestas, las elecciones en Israel programadas para el pr\u00f3ximo 2 de marzo, que se suceden por tercera vez consecutiva en aproximadamente un a\u00f1o, no lograr\u00edan destrabar el estancamiento pol\u00edtico.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

No obstante, hay dos factores que podr\u00edan alterar decididamente en forma impredecible la ecuaci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica: un brote del virus COVID-19, conocido como coronavirus, y un conflicto b\u00e9lico de gran escala en Gaza.<\/p>\n

En relaci\u00f3n con el coronavirus el Gobierno parece haber preferido actuar con formidable celo, hasta el punto de restringir la entrada de visitantes de pa\u00edses del Sudeste Asi\u00e1tico, tales como China, Jap\u00f3n, Corea del Sur, Singapur y Tailandia. Se trata de una decisi\u00f3n que ha creado tensi\u00f3n entre el Ministerio de Salud y la Canciller\u00eda. Funcionarios del Ministerio de Exteriores, preocupados por la dr\u00e1stica decisi\u00f3n, dejaron entrever que la medida podr\u00eda tener consecuencias negativas irreparables para las relaciones bilaterales a largo plazo.<\/p>\n

Con respecto a la Franja de Gaza, el Gobierno ha procurado forjar una especie de modus vivendi con el soberano all\u00ed, es decir con el movimiento islamista Ham\u00e1s, a trav\u00e9s de las mediaciones de Egipto y Qatar, dos pa\u00edses \u00e1rabes cuyas relaciones entre s\u00ed son poco menos que hostiles. El Cairo, que controla de hecho la \u00fanica salida de Gaza hacia el exterior, aplica sobre Ham\u00e1s la pol\u00edtica del palo y la zanahoria. En cambio, Doha distribuye bolsas de zanahoria, siempre y cuando Jerusal\u00e9n se lo permite.<\/p>\n

A esta complicada relaci\u00f3n triangular de amor-odio debe sumarse el crecimiento de la influencia la Jihad Isl\u00e1mica Palestina (JIP) que act\u00faa como un \u201caguafiestas\u201d. Para muchos comentaristas, la JIP opera bajo la vista gorda de Ham\u00e1s, permiti\u00e9ndole al grupo castigar a Israel sin tener que exponerse.<\/p>\n

En cambio, el analista del Canal 12, Ehud Yaari, considera que la Jihad Isl\u00e1mica no deber\u00eda verse como un grupo est\u00e1ndar palestino sino como \u201clo que son en realidad: otra milicia que act\u00faa en nombre y bajo las \u00f3rdenes de Ir\u00e1n, como sus hom\u00f3logos en Irak y Siria\u201d.<\/p>\n

Yaari sostiene que Ham\u00e1s y Jihad Isl\u00e1mica est\u00e1n atac\u00e1ndose como perro y gato, y que \u00e9ste \u00faltimo quiere una parte de los beneficios que ingresan a la Franja a trav\u00e9s de Qatar, torpedear los acuerdos que est\u00e1n tratando de forjar Israel y Ham\u00e1s, a pedido de Ir\u00e1n, y perjudicar al primer ministro, Benjam\u00edn Netanyahu, en las encuestas porque ha sido \u00e9l quien ha estado presionando en favor de las sanciones contra el r\u00e9gimen iran\u00ed.<\/p>\n<\/a>
