La historia de Rut nos ense\u00f1a grandes valores jud\u00edos de c\u00f3mo debemos vivir nuestras vidas como jud\u00edos.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

En Shavuot, los jud\u00edos tradicionalmente leen la historia de Rut en el Tanaj. Seg\u00fan varios sabios jud\u00edos, esto se hace porque a) gran parte de la historia de Rut tuvo lugar durante la cosecha de la cebada y ofreci\u00f3 un buen ejemplo de c\u00f3mo el granjero jud\u00edo debe tratar a los pobres, mientras que la festividad de Shavuot cae en la temporada de cosecha, b) porque el rey David era uno de los descendientes de Ruth y el cumplea\u00f1os del rey David y la fecha de su muerte ambos caen en Shavuot, y c) porque Ruth fue una excelente modelo para todos los justos conversos al juda\u00edsmo, y en el evento del Monte Sina\u00ed, el pueblo jud\u00edo vivi\u00f3 una experiencia similar al vivir su propio renacimiento.<\/p>\n

La historia de Rut tiene un mont\u00f3n de ense\u00f1anzas importantes escondidas en su interior.<\/strong> Para empezar, la historia de Rut demuestra c\u00f3mo todos los jud\u00edos deben tratar a los extranjeros entre nosotros. En efecto, Ruth, a pesar de que era de origen extranjero, form\u00f3 parte de la naci\u00f3n moabita, que no tuvo una historia tan agradable con la naci\u00f3n de Israel. El trato que Ruth dio a los habitantes del campo de Boaz, nos ense\u00f1a que siempre debemos mirar hacia el desafortunado, forme parte o no de nuestra naci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Excelentes ejemplos contempor\u00e1neos que ocurren cada d\u00eda en Israel pueden servirnos para ver c\u00f3mo Israel sigue la \u00e9tica de nuestros ancestros: un hospital israel\u00ed al cuidado de un beb\u00e9 palestino, residente en Gaza, discapacitado que ha sido abandonado por sus padres, o el de Israel proporcionando tratamiento m\u00e9dico para los ni\u00f1os iraqu\u00edes con problemas del coraz\u00f3n, o los soldados israel\u00edes ayudando a un ni\u00f1o palestino que result\u00f3 herido por un palestino que lanzaba cohetes. El juda\u00edsmo ense\u00f1a que todos los conversos son \u201crechazados\u201d tres veces, antes de que se les permitan abrazar la fe jud\u00eda. Luego, al entrar en la naci\u00f3n jud\u00eda, se convierten en jud\u00edos fuertemente comprometidos, ya que superaron todos los obst\u00e1culos para lograr su objetivo.<\/p>\n
