EEUU ha podido matar a Qasem Soleimani por su suficiencia y descuido. Y es que el comandante de los Cuerpos de la Guardia Revolucionaria Isl\u00e1mica de Ir\u00e1n-Fuerza Quds (CGRI-FQ) se hab\u00eda convertido en una figura p\u00fablica en Irak y actuaba como si no temiera ser objetivo de EEUU, seg\u00fan han informado al\u00a0Long War Journal<\/a>\u00a0de la FDD militares norteamericanos familiarizados con las rutinas que hab\u00eda ido adquiriendo.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Soleimani fue eliminado anoche en un ataque a\u00e9reo norteamericano mientras circulaba en un convoy que hab\u00eda salido del aeropuerto internacional de Bagdad; junto con \u00e9l cayeron Abu Mahd\u00ed al Muhandis, l\u00edder de las Brigadas Hezbol\u00e1 y vicejefe de las Fuerzas de Movilizaci\u00f3n Popular (FMP), y otros cinco individuos. El Pent\u00e1gono dice que Soleimani \u201caprob\u00f3 los ataques contra la embajada norteamericana en Irak\u201d y\u00a0estaba preparando nuevos ataques contra intereses estadounidenses<\/strong>\u00a0en el pa\u00eds mesopot\u00e1mico.<\/p>\n

Como capo de la Fuerza Quds, cuerpo de \u00e9lite de los CRGI que controla insurgencias y operaciones terroristas en el exterior de Ir\u00e1n,\u00a0Soleimani ten\u00eda las manos muy manchadas de sangre<\/strong>. Sus actividades le pusieron en el punto de mira de m\u00faltiples servicios de inteligencia.<\/p>\n

S\u00f3lo en Irak, su apoyo a diversos escuadrones de la muerte y milicias chi\u00edes le hizo responsable de la muerte de m\u00e1s de 600 soldados norteamericanos y de\u00a0decenas de miles de civiles, soldados y polic\u00edas iraqu\u00edes<\/strong>. Su respaldo a Hezbol\u00e1, Ham\u00e1s y la Yihad Isl\u00e1mica Palestina posibilit\u00f3 un estado de guerra perpetua del L\u00edbano y los palestinos contra Israel. Decenas de miles de personas han muerto en esos conflictos. En el Yemen, la asistencia de Soleimani a los huzis ha asegurado la pervivencia de la guerra civil. En Siria organiz\u00f3 milicias chi\u00edes, algunas procedentes de Irak y Afganist\u00e1n, para que combatieran al Estado Isl\u00e1mico (EI) y sostuvieran al r\u00e9gimen criminal de Asad.<\/p>\n

Pese a sus actividades, Soleimani se mostraba \u201cufano\u201d en Irak, seg\u00fan ha comentado al\u00a0Long War Journal<\/i>\u00a0un mando norteamericano. Su extraordinaria influencia en Irak en los \u00e1mbitos pol\u00edtico, militar y religioso le confiri\u00f3 una tremenda confianza y una sensaci\u00f3n de gran importancia. Las fuentes afirman que\u00a0se consideraba \u201cintocable\u201d como \u201cvirrey de Irak\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cHab\u00eda dejado de temernos\u201d<\/strong>, afirma un oficial norteamericano que prefiere mantenerse en el anonimato. \u201cLo designamos [terrorista] y clasificamos a la Fuerza Quds como organizaci\u00f3n terrorista, pero no hizo nada. Con el tiempo se fue sintiendo m\u00e1s seguro y confiado\u201d mientras se mov\u00eda por Irak. \u201cHace m\u00e1s de una d\u00e9cada, no habr\u00eda ido al aeropuerto internacional de Bagdad\u201d, asegura otra fuente militar. \u201cEra m\u00e1s cuidadoso\u201d.<\/p>\n

Soleimani empez\u00f3 a descuidarse tras la retirada norteamericana de Irak<\/strong>, dicen los militares estadounidenses; sobre todo desde que respald\u00f3 a las FMP en la guerra contra el EI. Las FMP est\u00e1n compuestas de milicias iraqu\u00edes pero las controlan aquellas que tienen el respaldo de Soleimani e Ir\u00e1n. Otro de los eliminados en el ataque que cost\u00f3 la vida a Soleimani, Muhandis, era un miembro fundamental de las FMP.<\/p>\n

Luego de que las fuerzas iraqu\u00edes colapsaran en el oeste, el norte y el centro de Irak durante el asalto del EI que se sald\u00f3 con la toma de Mosul por parte de esta organizaci\u00f3n terrorista (2014),\u00a0Soleimani e Ir\u00e1n se hicieron cargo de la situaci\u00f3n<\/strong>. Soleimani, Muhandis y otros l\u00edderes milicianos organizaron las FMP y combatieron al EI. Las FMP comandaron numerosas operaciones de reconquista en varias ciudades del pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Soleimani se vio particularmente reforzado cuando\u00a0el Ej\u00e9rcito norteamericano ignor\u00f3 su influencia<\/strong>\u00a0y en su lugar se dedic\u00f3 a lanzar ataques contra el EI, mientras las FMP y las fuerzas iraqu\u00edes pasaban a la ofensiva.<\/p>\n

El l\u00edder de la Fuerza Quds empez\u00f3 a mostrarse en p\u00fablico<\/strong>\u00a0visitando campos de batalla fundamentales. De hecho, fue fotografiado en numerosas ocasiones mientras se reun\u00eda con l\u00edderes de las FMP o alentaba a los combatientes de las mismas a dar la batalla al EI.<\/p>\n

El ataque de anoche puso fin a m\u00e1s de un decenio de frustraciones entre los militares norteamericanos. \u201cA veces sab\u00edamos d\u00f3nde estaba y a d\u00f3nde iba a ir, pod\u00edamos rastrear sus movimientos\u201d, dice una fuente militar. \u201cPero\u00a0nunca nos dejaron ir a por \u00e9l<\/strong>.
