Esta madre jud\u00eda ortodoxa de cinco hijos, corredora y una promesa ol\u00edmpica, Beatie Deutsch ya no podr\u00e1 competir en los juegos de Tokio 2020 debido a un cambio tard\u00edo de horario que movi\u00f3 la competencia de marat\u00f3n femenina del domingo al Shabat, el d\u00eda de descanso jud\u00edo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Al enterarse de las noticias, Deutsch, quien se mud\u00f3 a Israel desde Nueva Jersey, public\u00f3 en su cuenta de Instagram \u00abmarat\u00f3n madre\u00bb, \u00abSent\u00ed que me golpearon en el est\u00f3mago esta ma\u00f1ana … Hoy me enter\u00e9 de que la fecha del marat\u00f3n ol\u00edmpico ha sido cambiada a Shabat \u00ab.<\/span><\/p>\n

La corredora continu\u00f3 explicando que revis\u00f3 por primera vez la fecha del marat\u00f3n ol\u00edmpico en enero para asegurarse de que no hubiera conflicto con su observancia religiosa.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abEstaba programado para el domingo 2 de agosto, as\u00ed que sab\u00eda que pod\u00eda competir\u00bb, escribi\u00f3 Deutsch. \u00abCuando anunciaron que el Campeonato Mundial se celebrar\u00eda en Shabat, recuerdo que ni siquiera me sent\u00ed decepcionada\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abDe repente, las cosas han pasado muy r\u00e1pidas\u00bb, escribi\u00f3 Deutsch en Instagram. \u00abPorque he hablado siempre p\u00fablico acerca de mi sue\u00f1o ol\u00edmpico … y he invertido mucho para llegar all\u00ed … y qu\u00e9 pasa si … qu\u00e9 pasa si despu\u00e9s de todo eso, no lo logro y no puedo ni siquiera \u00a1\u00bfcorrer?!\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n

En cualquier d\u00eda, excepto Shabat, se puede ver a Deutsch entrenando por las calles de Jerusalem con un atuendo modesto tradicional: una falda hasta la rodilla, una camisa de manga 3\/4 y cabello cubierto con una bufanda. Corre dos veces al d\u00eda y registra un total de 90 millas por semana.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deutsch, una autodenominada \u00abluchadora\u00bb, public\u00f3 que planea \u00abhacer todo lo que pueda para cambiar la fecha del marat\u00f3n ol\u00edmpico\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

En septiembre, Deutsch alcanz\u00f3 su mejor registro personal en una marat\u00f3n en Ciudad del Cabo, llegando a las 2:36:41. Para calificarse para los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos, uno debe registrar 2:29:30. Sin embargo, solo la mitad de las corredoras de marat\u00f3n lo hacen.
