El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, rechaz\u00f3 hace varios meses un pedido del primer ministro, Benjam\u00edn Netanyahu, para que autorice la transferencia de doce millones de d\u00f3lares de ayuda norteamericana a las fuerzas de seguridad de la Autoridad Palestina (AP), se\u00f1ala un reporte del corresponsal diplom\u00e1tico del Canal 13, Barak Ravid, publicado en el sitio de noticias estadounidense Axios.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cSi eso es tan importante para Netanyahu, \u00e9l deber\u00eda pagar los 12 millones de d\u00f3lares\u201d, apunt\u00f3 Trump a sus asesores, seg\u00fan fuentes de la Casa Blanca citadas por Axios.<\/p>\n

La Administraci\u00f3n Trump ha cortado en forma significativa los fondos de ayuda que trasfer\u00eda a agencias palestinas y a organismos oficiales de la Autoridad Palestina, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Estos recortes fueron alentados por el gobierno israel\u00ed, especialmente por Netanyahu que pidi\u00f3 a Washington suspender los fondos de la ayuda estadounidense por el pago de estipendios a las familias de los terroristas muertos y a aquellos que est\u00e1n presos en las c\u00e1rceles israel\u00edes.<\/p>\n

En los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os, toda la ayuda fue gradualmente cortada, hasta hace seis meses atr\u00e1s, cuando el Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. encontr\u00f3 que la suma de doce millones de d\u00f3lares para la Autoridad Palestina no hab\u00eda sido transferida por la Administraci\u00f3n Trump.<\/p>\n

El embajador de Israel en Washington, Ron Dermer, y otros altos funcionarios israel\u00edes pidieron a los estadounidenses que den luz verde al traspaso de dinero.<\/p>\n

Entonces, los funcionarios de la Casa Blanca transmitieron el recado a Trump que vet\u00f3 el pedido. El presidente norteamericano reafirm\u00f3 que no har\u00e1 ninguna contribuci\u00f3n, mientras los palestinos lo sigan boicote\u00e1ndolo y se nieguen a negociar en t\u00e9rminos diplom\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n
