Israel acept\u00f3 esta propuesta, mientras que los \u00e1rabes la rechazaron. Sin embargo, aun as\u00ed, a pesar de este rechazo \u00e1rabe del Plan de Partici\u00f3n de la ONU, Israel continu\u00f3 buscando mantener relaciones pac\u00edficas con sus vecinos. Golda Meir, disfrazada de mujer musulmana, se col\u00f3 en Jordania, en un vano intento de convencer al Rey de Jordania para que el pa\u00eds \u00e1rabe permaneciera neutral en la guerra de 1948.
