Reducir la grasa hep\u00e1tica -y no solo la visceral en el abdomen y alrededor de los \u00f3rganos internos- es m\u00e1s importante de lo que antes se cre\u00eda respecto a c\u00f3mo minimizar \u00a0los riesgos para la salud asociados con la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/es.israel21c.org\/nuevo-tratamiento-contra-la-obesidad-sin-pasar-por-el-quirofano\/\">obesidad<\/a>. As\u00ed lo afirmaron en su art\u00edculo los investigadores de la Universidad Ben Gurion, el Centro M\u00e9dico Soroka, la Universidad de Tel Aviv y el Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Nuclear del N\u00e9guev (todos en Israel); y las universidades de Leipzig (Alemania) y Harvard (EU).<\/p>\n<p>El estudio apoya la comprensi\u00f3n emergente de que el exceso de grasa hep\u00e1tica no es simplemente un signo de los riesgos para la salud asociados con la obesidad, incluidas las enfermedades cardiovasculares y la\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/es.israel21c.org\/una-empresa-israeli-busca-dejar-atras-las-inyecciones-de-insulina\/\">diabetes<\/a>, sino que probablemente tambi\u00e9n sea una de sus causas.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores, encabezados por la profesora Iris Shai de la Universidad Ben Gurion, utilizaron tecnolog\u00eda de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n para medir y mapear durante 18 meses los efectos de diferentes reg\u00edmenes en dep\u00f3sitos de grasa corporal de 278 personas con sobrepeso.<\/p>\n<p>Al comparar los resultados de los pacientes, que redujeron la ingesta de calor\u00edas a trav\u00e9s de una dieta mediterr\u00e1nea baja en carbohidratos, los cient\u00edficos vieron que ambos grupos hab\u00edan perdido una cantidad moderada de peso, sobre todo aquellos que tambi\u00e9n recibieron un r\u00e9gimen de ejercicio moderado.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, hallaron reducciones m\u00e1s significativas en el riesgo medible de enfermedades card\u00edacas en aquellos que siguieron una dieta mediterr\u00e1nea basada en verduras, nueces, legumbres y cantidades frugales de pescado y aves.<\/p>\n<p>Los investigadores creen que este estudio -sin precedentes en su extensi\u00f3n y amplitud- abre un camino significativo hacia una mejor comprensi\u00f3n de la din\u00e1mica de la p\u00e9rdida de peso y la prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades, as\u00ed como del uso de im\u00e1genes por resonancia magn\u00e9tica para medir los dep\u00f3sitos de grasa.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abEl alto contenido de grasa hep\u00e1tica se asocia con el s\u00edndrome metab\u00f3lico, la diabetes mellitus tipo 2 y enfermedades coronarias. En el ensayo que dur\u00f3 18 meses, la dieta mediterr\u00e1nea baja en carbohidratos indujo a una mayor disminuci\u00f3n en el contenido de grasa hep\u00e1tica que cualquier otra dieta baja en grasa.
