Este martes se celebraron las elecciones primarias del partido laborista israel\u00ed, Avod\u00e1, para elegir al l\u00edder que encabezar\u00e1 la lista de cara a las elecciones del pr\u00f3ximo 17 de septiembre.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

A pesar de las expectativas generadas por un posible cambio generacional en Avod\u00e1, el veterano pol\u00edtico y ex ministro de Defensa, Amir Peretz, se convirti\u00f3 nuevamente en el l\u00edder del partido, tras haber ocupado la misma posici\u00f3n entre el 2005 y el 2007.<\/p>\n

Peretz alcanz\u00f3 el 47% de los votos, superando as\u00ed el umbral del 40% necesario para poder vencer en la primera vuelta. En segundo lugar se ubic\u00f3 Stav Shaffir con 26.9%, seguida por Itzik Shmuli con 26.3%, ambos j\u00f3venes l\u00edderes que se hicieron conocidos por haber dirigido las protestas sociales del 2011 en Israel.<\/p>\n

Tras ser electo, Peretz declar\u00f3 que lo m\u00e1s importante para hacer ahora es \u00abconseguir la uni\u00f3n de fuerzas en el bloque (de centro izquierda)\u00bb, lo que refuerza las previsiones de que buscar\u00e1 unirse con partidos como Meretz y el nuevo partido de Ehud Barak.<\/p>\n

El propio ex primer ministro israel\u00ed Ehud Barak, quien hace algunos d\u00edas anunci\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n de un nuevo partido pol\u00edtico, felicit\u00f3 a Peretz por su victoria al tiempo que enfatiz\u00f3 que \u00abest\u00e1 en nuestro poder hacer lo necesario y poder presentarnos juntos, unidos a otros partidos, para poder regresar a Israel al camino correcto\u00bb.<\/p>\n
