El fundador y presidente de Shalva, una asociaci\u00f3n \u00fanica para la inclusi\u00f3n de personas con necesidades especiales en la sociedad, recibi\u00f3 un premio por su contribuci\u00f3n al estado jud\u00edo.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Anoche, el fundador y presidente de Shalva, la Asociaci\u00f3n Israel\u00ed de Atenci\u00f3n e Inclusi\u00f3n de Personas con Discapacidades, Kalman Samuels, recibi\u00f3 un doctorado honorario, el Doctor Em\u00e9rito, de la Universidad de Bar Ilan.<\/span><\/p>\n

El premio fue en reconocimiento a las inmensas contribuciones de Shalva a la sociedad israel\u00ed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Samuels fund\u00f3 Shalva en 1990 para brindar atenci\u00f3n a personas con discapacidades, empoderar a sus familias y promover la inclusi\u00f3n social.<\/span><\/p>\n

Miles de personas con discapacidades se han beneficiado de los programas integrales de Shalva, que abarcan terapias, educaci\u00f3n, actividades sociales y recreativas, capacitaci\u00f3n laboral, instalaciones de vida independiente y apoyo familiar.<\/span><\/p>\n

Este reconocimiento especial se produce despu\u00e9s de que Samuels, junto con su esposa Malki, pasasen d\u00e9cadas trabajando arduamente para nutrir y brindar esperanza a los ni\u00f1os con discapacidades y a sus familias.<\/span><\/p>\n

El a\u00f1o pasado, Shalva tom\u00f3 al mundo por asalto cuando un grupo musical asociado con \u00e9l, la Banda Shalva, hizo una audici\u00f3n para representar a Israel en Eurovision 2019. La banda, cuyos int\u00e9rpretes tienen una variedad de necesidades especiales, ofreci\u00f3 una conmovedora interpretaci\u00f3n que les permiti\u00f3 llegar hasta la final.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dado que los miembros de la banda respetan el Shabbat, y habr\u00edan tenido que actuar en el d\u00eda sagrado durante Eurovisi\u00f3n, se negaron a participar en la final.<\/span><\/p>\n

Se hizo un gran esfuerzo para permitir que la banda de Shalva respetara el Shabat <\/span>y <\/span><\/em>se<\/span> presentara el s\u00e1bado en el certamen, pero los esfuerzos no dieron sus frutos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Debido a la enorme popularidad de la banda y la apreciaci\u00f3n de la gente por el hecho de que eligieron la observancia del s\u00e1bado a competir en Eurovison, se pidi\u00f3 al grupo que hiciera una aparici\u00f3n especial durante la semifinal de Eurovision, celebrada el martes. La versi\u00f3n de la banda de Shalva de \u00abUn mill\u00f3n de sue\u00f1os\u00bb hizo que la audiencia de Eurovisi\u00f3n se emocionar\u00e1 y recibiera una ovaci\u00f3n nunca antes vista.<\/span><\/p>\n
