En el ghetto de Varsovia viv\u00edan hacinados cerca de 500.000 jud\u00edos que estaban limitados a habitar en un \u00e1rea de 3.4 kil\u00f3metros cuadrados.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

En julio de 1942, los nazis comenzaron a deportar a los jud\u00edos del ghetto de Varsovia a los campos de concentraci\u00f3n y durante ese verano m\u00e1s de 250.000 jud\u00edos fueron enviados al campo de exterminio de Treblinka.<\/p>\n

Con el comienzo de las deportaciones, los residentes jud\u00edos del ghetto decidieron organizar movimientos de resistencia armada contra los nazis y entre el 19 de Abril y el 16 de Mayo de 1943 se llev\u00f3 a cabo la revuelta conocida como el \u00abLevantamiento del Ghetto de Varsovia\u00bb, liderada por Mordechai Anielewicz.<\/p>\n

\u00abEs imposible describir las condiciones en las cuales los jud\u00edos del ghetto est\u00e1n viviendo ahora. Solo unos pocos lograr\u00e1n resistir. El resto morir\u00e1n tarde o temprano. Su destino est\u00e1 decidido\u00bb, escribi\u00f3 Anielewicz.<\/p>\n

\u00abEl sue\u00f1o de mi vida se hizo realidad. La defensa en el ghetto se convirti\u00f3 en un hecho. La resistencia armada jud\u00eda y la venganza est\u00e1n realmente ocurriendo. He sido testigo del combate glorioso y heroico de los combatientes jud\u00edos\u00bb, escribi\u00f3 Anielewicz sobre el levantamiento.<\/p>\n

Cuando la revuelta termin\u00f3, los nazis comenzaron a sacar de sus escondites a cerca de 50.000 sobrevivientes que luego fueron ejecutados o enviados a campos de concentraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Aunque la identidad del ni\u00f1o de la foto sigue siendo desconocida, su historia es la de muchos de los habitantes del ghetto. \u00c9l y su familia trataron de esconderse en un b\u00fanker durante la \u00faltima liquidaci\u00f3n de los nazis pero los nazis los obligaron a salir de su escondite.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de la fotograf\u00eda probablemente todos los jud\u00edos que aparecen en ella fueron conducidos a la \u00abUmschlagplatz\u00bb y deportados a los campos de Majdanek o Treblinka.<\/p>\n

Curiosamente, la \u00fanica persona cuya identidad es conocida es la del soldado de las SS Josef Blosche que apunta con un fusil al ni\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

La foto es una de las m\u00e1s ic\u00f3nicas del Holocausto y, aunque no tiene un nombre oficial, fue nombrada por la revista Time como \u00abUn ni\u00f1o jud\u00edo se rinde en Varsovia\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Su imagen representa la historia de los seis millones de jud\u00edos asesinados durante el Holocausto, incluyendo un mill\u00f3n y medio de ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n
