El presidente de la organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro SpaceIL, Morris Khan, anunci\u00f3 que conducir\u00e1 un nuevo intento de aterrizar un m\u00f3dulo espacial israel\u00ed en la Luna, que se denominar\u00e1 \u201cBereshit 2\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

El m\u00f3dulo espacial Bereshit (G\u00e9nesis) deb\u00eda alunizar el jueves pasado, pero minutos antes del aterrizaje se perdi\u00f3 el contacto con el aparato, que aparentemente se estrell\u00f3 en la Luna. A pesar del fracaso del alunizaje, el m\u00f3dulo espacial convirti\u00f3 a Israel en el s\u00e9ptimo pa\u00eds cuya nave espacial orbita la Luna.<\/p>\n

La peque\u00f1a nave espacial, la primera en el mundo financiada en forma privada, se estrell\u00f3 en la superficie de la Luna durante el intento de alunizaje, aparentemente debido a un desperfecto t\u00e9cnico que hizo que su motor principal se detuviera durante el descenso, haciendo que el m\u00f3dulo se precipitara pr\u00e1cticamente en ca\u00edda libre.<\/p>\n

El multimillonario Kahn, nacido en Sud\u00e1frica, le dijo al Canal 12, que los trabajos comenzar\u00e1n de inmediato.<\/p>\n

Tras el anuncio, la Industria Aeroespacial de Israel (IAI), que particip\u00f3 como socia en el proyecto Beresheet, declar\u00f3 que tomar\u00e1 parte con gusto en los futuros emprendimientos de SpaceIL.<\/p>\n

Kahn proporcion\u00f3 una gran parte de los cien millones de d\u00f3lares (370 millones de shekels) necesarios para montar y lanzar el m\u00f3dulo espacial, mediante un enfoque novedoso que implic\u00f3 apenas una fracci\u00f3n del costo de los esfuerzos anteriores financiados por diferentes estados para arribar a la Luna.<\/p>\n
