Seg\u00fan un informe reciente del sitio web \u00e1rabe con sede en Londres <\/span>Rai al-Youm<\/span><\/em> , Israel, junto con Estados Unidos y un pa\u00eds \u00e1rabe al que no nombr\u00f3, participaron en la operaci\u00f3n para localizar y capturar al ex dictador iraqu\u00ed, Saddam Hussein en el a\u00f1o 2003.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poco tiempo antes de la captura de Hussein, las fuerzas estadounidenses arrestaron a un confidente cercano del dictador llamado Muhammad Ibrahim, quien fue entregado al Mossad para ser <\/span>interrogado sobre el paradero de Hussein<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Se ide\u00f3 un plan para matar a Hussein con un misil durante el funeral de su t\u00edo, que las fuerzas de inteligencia israel\u00edes descubrieron que ten\u00eda una enfermedad terminal en ese momento. Sin embargo, la operaci\u00f3n se desech\u00f3 despu\u00e9s de que un accidente de entrenamiento durante los ensayos provocara la muerte de cinco soldados y la herida de otros seis, debido a que un misil armado se despleg\u00f3 accidentalmente durante un ensayo de la misi\u00f3n. En 1998, el Mossad se embarc\u00f3 en la Operaci\u00f3n Bramble Bush II, en un intento por atacar nuevamente a Hussein. La organizaci\u00f3n de Inteligencia explor\u00f3 lugares dentro de Irak que ser\u00edan ideales para organizar una emboscada y un asesinato, pero los planes finalmente se desecharon debido a la presi\u00f3n estadounidense y una evaluaci\u00f3n israel\u00ed de que el asesinato de Hussein pudiera frustrar los esfuerzos israel\u00edes para forjar v\u00ednculos con el mundo \u00e1rabe .<\/span><\/p>\n
