El Primer Ministro de Israel, Benjam\u00edn Netanyahu, viajar\u00e1 a Chad \u00abpronto\u00bb para anunciar formalmente el establecimiento de relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas, seg\u00fan lo anunci\u00f3 hoy la Oficina del Primer Ministro.<\/p>\n

El anuncio se produjo tras la reuni\u00f3n de Netanyahu con el presidente de Chad, Idriss D\u00e9by, antes de que este terminara su visita de dos d\u00edas, la primera de un presidente de Chad.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la declaraci\u00f3n, los dos l\u00edderes discutieron las \u00abamenazas comunes\u00bb y la guerra contra el terrorismo.<\/p>\n

Chad est\u00e1 en la l\u00ednea del frente en \u00c1frica en la batalla contra el terrorismo radical isl\u00e1mico, ya sea en forma de Boko Haram o de organizaciones afiliadas al Estado Isl\u00e1mico o al-Qaeda.<\/p>\n

La experiencia de Israel en la lucha contra el terrorismo es una de las razones principales por las que D\u00e9by decidi\u00f3 renovar los lazos con Israel, 46 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de que Chad cortara las relaciones diplom\u00e1ticas formales.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu viaj\u00f3 a Uganda, Kenia, Ruanda y Etiop\u00eda en julio de 2016 para la primera visita al continente de un primer ministro israel\u00ed en casi 30 a\u00f1os; a Liberia en junio de 2017 para una reuni\u00f3n cumbre con l\u00edderes de \u00c1frica occidental; y a Kenia en noviembre de 2017 cuando asumi\u00f3 el presidente de Kenia, Uhuru Kenyatta.<\/p>\n
