El Gobierno y las Fuerzas de Defensa de Israel (FDI) est\u00e1n haciendo esfuerzos supremos para evitar introducirse de lleno en una guerra de gran escala en Gaza.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

El 17 de octubre pasado, dos cohetes portando m\u00e1s de veinte kilogramos de explosivos, partieron de la Franja. Uno de ellos destruy\u00f3 una vivienda en Beer Sheva. Milagrosamente no produjo heridos porque la mujer que viv\u00eda en la casa escuch\u00f3 la sirena antia\u00e9rea y se introdujo r\u00e1pidamente con sus tres hijos en el refugio. El segundo cay\u00f3 en el mar frente a una ciudad importante al sur de Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n

El Gabinete de Pol\u00edtica y Seguridad se reuni\u00f3 de urgencia y, tras cinco horas de debate, decidi\u00f3 no decidir.<\/p>\n

Inexplicablemente, el Gobierno exoner\u00f3 a Hamas al adoptar la versi\u00f3n de que los dos cohetes hab\u00edan sido disparados por el accionar un rayo. Y como dijo un ministro al diario Yediot Aharonot: \u201cNo estar\u00eda bien ir a la guerra por culpa del clima\u201d. Nadie explic\u00f3 por qu\u00e9 entonces no salieron lanzados otros proyectiles.<\/p>\n

Lo que se observa en la zona fronteriza con Gaza bajo la cobertura de manifestaciones populares es una guerra de desgaste. Desde el 14 de mayo pasado, m\u00e1s de doscientos palestinos han muerto y miles han quedado heridos o lisiados. En tanto que del lado israel\u00ed un soldado fue asesinado por el disparo de un francotirador palestino.<\/p>\n

La ecuaci\u00f3n matem\u00e1tica detr\u00e1s de la t\u00e1ctica palestina, seg\u00fan la diputada Anat Berko (Likud), de \u201carrancarse un ojo para quitarle a Israel los dos\u201d, no parece estar funcionando. Mientras que la retorica belicista de los ministros (por ejemplo de Naftal\u00ed Bennett y Avigdor Liberman) aparenta estar a a\u00f1os luz de lo que en realidad el Ejecutivo quiere.<\/p>\n

La Jihad Isl\u00e1mica Palestina (JIP) se atribuy\u00f3 los \u00faltimos lanzamientos de cohetes, del fin de semana pasado, contra las comunidades israel\u00edes aleda\u00f1as a Gaza. Esto ha sido muy c\u00f3modo para Hamas que debe dar luego explicaciones a la delegaci\u00f3n egipcia en las conversaciones para un cese del fuego. Pero los analistas no creen que la Jihad Isl\u00e1mica pueda actuar sin el gui\u00f1o de Ham\u00e1s.<\/p>\n

Otra vez, el portavoz militar israel\u00ed volvi\u00f3 a excusar a Hamas, al acusar no solo a la JIP, sino tambi\u00e9n al Cuerpo de la Guardia Revolucionaria de Ir\u00e1n y a Siria.<\/p>\n

Evidentemente, el establishment militar y el Gobierno prefieren buscar la posibilidad de un arreglo con el due\u00f1o de Gaza, o sea Hamas, porque sus preocupaciones principales est\u00e1n enfocadas en los desarrollos m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la frontera norte, lo que no quita que un incidente inesperado pueda alterar toda la ecuaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
