La Autoridad Palestina (AP) dej\u00f3 claro el mi\u00e9rcoles al mundo que si se ve obligado a elegir, pagar\u00e1 salarios a los terroristas en lugar de pagar por la educaci\u00f3n de los ni\u00f1os palestinos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Informes recientes afirmaron que el <\/span>Organismo de Obras P\u00fablicas y Socorro de las Naciones Unidas<\/span><\/a> (UNRWA), dedicado exclusivamente a servir a los palestinos, no ten\u00eda suficiente dinero para abrir el sistema escolar del OOPS a m\u00e1s de 320.000 ni\u00f1os palestinos.<\/span><\/p>\n

El presupuesto del OOPS para las escuelas podr\u00eda ser cubierto f\u00e1cilmente por la Autoridad Palestina del dinero que gasta en pagar a los presos terroristas y a las familias de los llamados \u00abM\u00e1rtires\u00bb, terroristas abatidos mientras atacaban objetivos israel\u00edes. Sin embargo, el presidente de la Autoridad Palestina, Mahmoud Abbas, anunci\u00f3 en el canal de televisi\u00f3n oficial que \u00abIsrael los considera criminales … Incluso si tenemos que cortarnos la carne, <\/span>continuaremos brindando el apoyo y la ayuda<\/span><\/a>\u00ab.<\/span><\/p>\n

El jueves, el Comisionado General de la UNRWA, Pierre Kr\u00e4henb\u00fchl, anunci\u00f3 que las escuelas abrir\u00e1n a tiempo, pero el problema no est\u00e1 resuelto.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00abAl anunciar hoy la apertura del a\u00f1o escolar, deseo dejar en claro que UNRWA no est\u00e1 de ninguna manera fuera de peligro. Desde enero de 2018, UNRWA ha movilizado $238 millones de fondos adicionales, lo cual es muy alentador. Actualmente solo tenemos fondos para ejecutar los servicios de la Agencia hasta fines de septiembre. Necesitamos otros $217 M para garantizar que nuestras escuelas no solo se abran sino que se puedan administrarse hasta el final del a\u00f1o\u00bb.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para el a\u00f1o 2018, la Autoridad Palestina asign\u00f3 1.237 millones de NIS a los salarios de los presos terroristas, los presos terroristas liberados, las familias de los terroristas abatidos y los terroristas heridos. Estos fondos, pagados a menos de 100,000 personas, representan m\u00e1s de un tercio del presupuesto total del Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n de la Autoridad Palestina (NIS 3.350 millones), que brinda servicios educativos a m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de palestinos, se\u00f1al\u00f3 PMW.<\/span><\/p>\n

El d\u00e9ficit presupuestario del OOPS, no m\u00e1s de 800 millones de shekels, es acumulativo para todas las escuelas administradas por el OOPS (incluidas las de Jordania, Siria y el L\u00edbano). En total, estas escuelas brindan educaci\u00f3n a 526,000 estudiantes, de los cuales, de acuerdo con el informe anual de UNRWA 2017, menos de 320,000 viven en las \u00e1reas controladas por la Autoridad Palestina. En consecuencia, el d\u00e9ficit para proporcionar servicios educativos a estudiantes residentes en las \u00e1reas de AP ser\u00eda sustancialmente menor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sin embargo, en lugar de educar a sus hijos, la AP rechaza continuamente la demanda de que deje de pagar a los terroristas y a sus familias, y conf\u00eda en la comunidad internacional para proporcionar esos servicios b\u00e1sicos.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/a>
