Milos Zeman, recientemente elegido para su segundo mandato de cinco a\u00f1os como presidente de la Rep\u00fablica Checa, desea acelerar el proceso de traslado de la embajada de su pa\u00eds a Jerusalem, asegur\u00f3 hoy el diario Lidov\u00e9 noviny.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s del anuncio de Estados Unidos de que su embajada se trasladar\u00eda a Jerusalem el 14 de mayo para el 70 aniversario de Israel, el embajador de Israel en Praga, Daniel Meron, tuite\u00f3 que, seg\u00fan el documento checo, Zeman desea que su pa\u00eds siga el ejemplo del presidente estadounidense, Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

\u00abMe hace verdaderamente feliz porque, como dije durante mi visita a Israel hace cuatro a\u00f1os, me gustar\u00eda transferir la Embajada checa a Jerusalem, y si hubiera sucedido, habr\u00edamos sido los primeros en hacerlo. Ahora, tarde o temprano, podemos seguir a los Estados Unidos\u00bb, expres\u00f3.<\/p>\n

El informe manifest\u00f3 que Zeman considera que la medida es una \u00abm\u00e1xima prioridad\u00bb, tras una reuni\u00f3n celebrada en Israel a fines de febrero con un grupo de trabajo interministerial checo para discutir la transferencia.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, despu\u00e9s de que Praga anunciara que el pa\u00eds seguir\u00eda la iniciativa de los EEUU, el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores checo limit\u00f3 la declaraci\u00f3n del pa\u00eds al oeste de Jerusalem diciendo que \u00abreconoce a Jerusalem como la capital de Israel en las fronteras de la l\u00ednea de demarcaci\u00f3n desde 1967\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Luego de consultar a sus colegas de la UE, el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores indic\u00f3 que se opon\u00eda a mover la embajada en este momento y que ni siquiera posee propiedades en Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
