El primer ministro, Biniam\u00edn Netanyahu, elogi\u00f3 una serie de medidas tomadas por el presidente norteamericano, Donald Trump, y expres\u00f3 su confianza de que Estados Unidos trasladar\u00e1 su embajada de Tel Aviv a Jerusalem dentro el lapso de un a\u00f1o.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cMi evaluaci\u00f3n y convencimiento es que esto se mover\u00e1 mucho m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido de lo que la gente piensa, un a\u00f1o a partir de hoy\u201d, manifest\u00f3 en un vuelo de Nueva Delhi a Gujarat, durante su visita oficial a la India.<\/p>\n

El mes pasado, el secretario de Estado norteamericano, Rex Tillerson, expres\u00f3 que relocalizar la embajada a Jerusalem tardar\u00eda como m\u00ednimo tres a\u00f1os y probablemente m\u00e1s tiempo. \u201cNo va a ser algo que suceda de inmediato\u201d, puntualiz\u00f3 Tillerson. \u201cProbablemente no antes de tres a\u00f1os, y eso es bastante ambicioso\u201d.<\/p>\n

El 6 de diciembre pasado, Trump reconoci\u00f3 Jerusalem como la capital de Israel y prometi\u00f3 que trasladar\u00e1 all\u00ed la embajada norteamericana, actualmente ubicada frente a la playa de Tel Aviv.<\/p>\n

La decisi\u00f3n desat\u00f3 las protestas de algunos pa\u00edses y fue rechazada en una resoluci\u00f3n no vinculante de la Asamblea General de la ONU. En cambio, la determinaci\u00f3n de Trump fue recibida con benepl\u00e1cito por Israel, y Guatemala anunci\u00f3 que seguir\u00e1 los pasos de EE.UU. y trasladar\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n su embajada a la ciudad santa.<\/p>\n

Mientras tanto, los ministros de Exteriores de la Liga \u00c1rabe anunciaron que se reunir\u00e1n el pr\u00f3ximo primero de febrero en El Cairo para discutir las medidas a tomar en contra del reconocimiento de Trump sobre Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
