El primer ministro, Biniam\u00edn Netanyahu, anunci\u00f3 la apertura de una nueva embajada israel\u00ed en Ruanda durante una visita oficial a Nairobi, capital de Kenia.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n

Recientemente, el Gobierno acord\u00f3 con Ruanda pagar cinco mil d\u00f3lares por cada inmigrante o solicitante de asilo africano que reside en Israel y que acepte trasladarse a ese pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu se reuni\u00f3 con el presidente de Ruanda, Paul Kagame, poco antes del anuncio.<\/p>\n

\u201cEstamos abriendo una nueva embajada en Kigali, la capital de Ruanda, como parte de la ampliaci\u00f3n de la presencia israel\u00ed en \u00c1frica y la profundizaci\u00f3n de la cooperaci\u00f3n entre Israel y los pa\u00edses africanos\u201d, afirm\u00f3 el primer ministro.<\/p>\n

Ambos mandatarios tambi\u00e9n hablaron sobre la posibilidad de establecer un vuelo directo entre Israel y Ruanda.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu viaj\u00f3 a Nairobi para felicitar personalmente al recientemente reelegido presidente de Kenia, Uhuru Kenyatta, y para reunirse con otros l\u00edderes africanos que asistieron a la ceremonia de asunci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La ministra de Exteriores de Ruanda, Louise Mushikiwabo, expres\u00f3 que, en el marco del acuerdo con Israel, Ruanda est\u00e1 dispuesta a aceptar a alrededor de diez mil solicitantes de asilo, que actualmente viven en Israel.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan el Ministerio del Interior, alrededor de 27 mil eritreos y ocho mil sudaneses residen en Israel. En agosto pasado, la Corte Suprema de de Justicia dictamin\u00f3 que pod\u00edan ser deportados a un tercer pa\u00eds, pero que quienes se nieguen a abandonar Israel no pueden ser encarcelados durante m\u00e1s de dos meses.<\/p>\n

Sin embargo, una nueva legislaci\u00f3n propuesta por el ministro del Interior, Aryeh Deri, y el ministro de Seguridad Interior, Gilad Erdan, cerrar\u00eda el centro de detenci\u00f3n abierto de Holot para solicitantes de asilo, dentro de cuatro meses y ofrecer\u00eda a los detenidos la opci\u00f3n entre la deportaci\u00f3n y la c\u00e1rcel.<\/p>\n

Netanyahu aterriz\u00f3 en Nairobi pocas horas despu\u00e9s de que asumiera el presidente reelecto de Kenia, Uhuru Kenyatta. Kenyatta recibi\u00f3 personalmente a Netanyahu en la Residencia Presidencial e invit\u00f3 al primer ministro a sentarse junto a \u00e9l en el almuerzo que sigui\u00f3 a la asunci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

El primer ministro hab\u00eda programado una serie marat\u00f3nica de reuniones vespertinas con las delegaciones africanas, incluyendo a los presidentes de Gab\u00f3n, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Ruanda, Sud\u00e1n del Sur, Botsuana y Namibia, as\u00ed como al primer ministro de Etiop\u00eda.<\/p>\n
