Las facciones palestinas convocaron elecciones generales para fines de 2018 despu\u00e9s de que las conversaciones en El Cairo encabezadas por sus rivales Hamas y Fatah, una declaraci\u00f3n conjunta de todos los grupos que participaron dijeron el mi\u00e9rcoles.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan la declaraci\u00f3n, las facciones aplazaron la elecci\u00f3n de una fecha final para las elecciones del presidente palestino. Mahmoud Abbas estar\u00e1 en el cargo pero antes de 2019 se celebraran las elecciones en el marco del acuerdo de reconciliaci\u00f3n, acordado en El Cairo.<\/p>\n

El 12 de octubre, Egipto negoci\u00f3 un acuerdo entre Hamas y Fatah para restaurar la autoridad de gobierno de la Autoridad Palestina en Gaza. Hamas control\u00f3 Gaza desde el derrocamiento de la Autoridad Palestina dominada por Fatah en el territorio desde 2007.<\/p>\n
