El equipo de b\u00e9isbol de Israel venci\u00f3 a su par de Taiwan por 15-7 en un encuentro disputado este martes. El partido se caracteriz\u00f3 por el poder\u00edo ofensivo del conjunto israel\u00ed y por la destacada actuaci\u00f3n de Nate Freiman.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Israel, que es una de las sorpresas del torneo ya que venci\u00f3 a la poderosa Corea del Sur por 2-1 en el encuentro inaugural, enfrentar\u00e1 a Holanda en la pr\u00f3xima jornada, conjunto que -en principio- es m\u00e1s d\u00e9bil que los dos anteriores.<\/p>\n

Los dos primeros equipos de cada grupo en el torneo de 16 equipos avanzar\u00e1n a la segunda ronda que se disputar\u00e1 en Jap\u00f3n la pr\u00f3xima semana.<\/p>\n

Vale destacar que casi todos los miembros del equipo de Israel son jud\u00edos estadounidenses. Seg\u00fan las reglas del Cl\u00e1sico Mundial de B\u00e9isbol, un jugador puede competir por un pa\u00eds si es elegible para ciudadan\u00eda bajo sus leyes.<\/p>\n

Rankeado como No. 38 en el mundo, el equipo israel\u00ed se ha convertido en la estrella del torneo, sorprendiendo a muchos incluso en Israel.<\/p>\n
