La Amid\u00e1 fue compuesta alrededor del siglo V antes de la era com\u00fan. La Amid\u00e1 es conocida tambi\u00e9n como \u00abShemona ‘esr\u00e9\u00bb, que significa \u00abdieciocho\u00bb en alusi\u00f3n a las dieciocho bendiciones que contiene. Pero en realidad, la Amid\u00e1 que decimos hoy \u00a1contiene 19 bendiciones, no 18! Alrededor del a\u00f1o 100 de la era com\u00fan, m\u00e1s de 500 a\u00f1os luego de que la Amid\u00e1 fuera formulada, Rab\u00e1n Gamliel (el segundo) y su corte Rab\u00ednica decidieron agregar una bendici\u00f3n en la Amid\u00e1 –que es la Beraj\u00e1 que estamos explorando hoy– y le encarg\u00f3 esta misi\u00f3n a uno de sus alumnos, Shemuel haQat\u00e1n. Esta beraj\u00e1 es conocida como Birkat haMinim, la oraci\u00f3n en la cual pedimos la ayuda de Dios para tratar con aquellos que desean destruir a Israel, f\u00edsica o espiritualmente.<\/p>\n

Maimonides (MT, Tefila, 2: 1) explica la raz\u00f3n por la cual Rab\u00e1n Gamliel agreg\u00f3 esta bendici\u00f3n en la Amid\u00e1.<\/p>\n

\u00abEn los tiempos de Rab\u00e1n Gamliel los herejes se multiplicaron en el pueblo jud\u00edo, y hac\u00edan sufrir al Pueblo de Israel y trataban de convencerlos que se alejar\u00e1n de Hashem… vio Rabb\u00e1n Gamliel que [en ese deshacerse] de los herejes era [en ese momento] la necesidad m\u00e1s imperiosa del pueblo, y compuso una [nueva] bendici\u00f3n y la estableci\u00f3 el la Amid\u00e1… \u00bb<\/p>\n

En esos tiempos exist\u00edan muchas \u00absectas\u00bb entre los jud\u00edos: Yehudim que, por ejemplo, no cre\u00edan en la tradici\u00f3n oral (tsadoqim), se burlaban de los rabinos y trataban de convencer a los dem\u00e1s jud\u00edos a abandonar la pr\u00e1ctica religiosa tradicional. Este es tambi\u00e9n el tiempo en el que un grupo de jud\u00edos se transformaron en \u00abap\u00f3stoles\u00bb, que seg\u00fan Mateo eran los hombres escogidos por Yeshu para \u00abpescadores de hombres\u00bb es decir, para propagar el mensaje cristiano entre otros jud\u00edos. Como bien sabemos, con el tiempo, este proselitismo religioso se transform\u00f3 en \u00abpersecuci\u00f3n religiosa\u00bb, iniciada, ir\u00f3nicamente por los jud\u00edos conversos. Es por eso que esta beraj\u00e1 no se refiere solo a herejes en el campo de la \u00abdoctrina teol\u00f3gica\u00bb (estos son los MINIM), sino que tambi\u00e9n al campo politico (estos son los MALSHINIM), cuando algunos miembros del pueblo jud\u00edo, los primeros cristianos, los samaritanos y otros grupos, se unieron al enemigo, Roma, para luchar contra Israel.<\/p>\n

Lo que queda claro es que, como lo explica el Rab Janoj Zundel (falleci\u00f3 en 1867) en su comentario \u00abAnaf Yosef\u00bb, esta Beraj\u00e1 no se refiere a los gentiles, sino particularmente a los traidores internos del pueblo jud\u00edo.<\/p>\n

Pero, \u00bfqui\u00e9n califica hoy en d\u00eda para esta vergonzosa categorizaci\u00f3n? \u00bfAcaso estamos rezando en esta Beraj\u00e1 por la erradicaci\u00f3n de aquellos jud\u00edos que no observan plenamente la Tor\u00e1? \u00a1Absolutamente NO! La Tor\u00e1 y los Sabios de Israel nos ense\u00f1an a tener mucha comprensi\u00f3n por aquellos Yehudim que, por diferentes razones, no cumplen plenamente con todas las Mitsvot (por ejemplo, tinoq shenishb\u00e1 ben hagoyim). En realidad, es nuestra obligaci\u00f3n inspirar a todos nuestros hermanos y hermanas Yehudim, y acercarlos a HaShem, con cari\u00f1o y paciencia, y de ninguna manera desear su supresi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Pienso que en nuestros d\u00edas, esta Beraj\u00e1 est\u00e1 destinada a dos tipos muy espec\u00edficos de \u00abtraici\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/p>\n

MINIM (Herejes), \u00abTraici\u00f3n religiosa\u00bb que alude a los jud\u00edos que abandonaron el juda\u00edsmo, se convirtieron a otra religi\u00f3n y dedican ahora todos sus esfuerzos al proselitismo para convertir a otros jud\u00edos a sus nuevas creencias (por ejemplo, Jud\u00edos Mesi\u00e1nicos, Jews for Jesus, etc.). Estos individuos, que tratan de ocultar sus intenciones, y se aprovechan de su condici\u00f3n jud\u00eda para darle mas credibilidad a su reprensible misi\u00f3n de alejar a sus hermanos Yehudim de la Tor\u00e1, causan da\u00f1os irreparables, y est\u00e1n m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de toda posibilidad de arrepentimiento o redenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

MALSHINIM (traidores) , \u00abTraici\u00f3n nacional o pol\u00edtica\u00bb, que se refiere a aquellos jud\u00edos que se unen a los enemigos \u00abpol\u00edticos\u00bb de Israel, en nuestros d\u00edas, por ejemplo, a los que quieren destruir al Estado de Israel. Desafortunadamente, y aunque no son muchos, hay jud\u00edos (como \u00ab\u05e9\u05d5\u05d1\u05e8\u05d9\u05dd \u05e9\u05ea\u05d9\u05e7\u05d4\u00bb o incluso algunos grupos jud\u00edos \u00a1observantes!) que traicionan a Israel, o se unen a naciones como Ir\u00e1n, que expresan abiertamente su intenci\u00f3n de destruir a Israel. Un individuo jud\u00edo (como el ex-canciller argentino H\u00e9ctor Timerman, por ejemplo) que se alinea con aquellos que intentan borrar a Israel del mapa, ha cruzado una linea roja que lo deja m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la posibilidad del retorno (teshub\u00e1). Por eso NO rezamos por su arrepentimiento, ya que el da\u00f1o que ha causado a la causa del pueblo de Israel es irreparable.<\/p>\n

En esta Beraj\u00e1, entonces, pedimos la asistencia de HaShem para que \u00c9l se encargue de los Yehudim que traicionan a la Tor\u00e1 y a su Pueblo. Porque hay poco que podemos hacer para defendernos de la deslealtad de \u00abnuestros propios hermanos\u00bb.<\/p>\n
