Eurodiputados, representantes de las comunidades jud\u00edas en Europa y otras personalidades se reunieron este mi\u00e9rcoles en el Parlamento en Bruselas para recordar a las seis millones de v\u00edctimas de la Shoa.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

El presidente de la C\u00e1mara, Antonio Tajani, asegur\u00f3 que recordar \u201cla peor tragedia de la historia europea\u00bb es \u201ccrucial si queremos evitar repetir los mismos errores\u00bb. En tal sentido, el funcionario expres\u00f3 su preocupaci\u00f3n por la persistencia de los cr\u00edmenes de odio contra los jud\u00edos hoy en d\u00eda y por la disminuci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n jud\u00eda en Europa. Subray\u00f3 la importancia de \u00abrecordar los terribles errores del pasado\u201d para no olvidar que \u201cEuropa siempre ha podido extraer lecciones de la historia para un futuro basado en la libertad, la democracia y el respeto de la dignidad humana\u00bb.<\/p>\n

El presidente del Congreso Jud\u00edo Europeo, Moshe Kantor, afirm\u00f3: \u00abNosotros, jud\u00edos europeos, queremos permanecer en Europa y serle fiel como siempre hemos sido\u201d. \u201cContamos con Europa para seguir mostrando su lealtad a la idea de que los jud\u00edos tienen un futuro aqu\u00ed en Europa\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3.<\/p>\n

La embajadora de la UNESCO para la Educaci\u00f3n sobre el Holocausto, Beate Klarsfeld, que investig\u00f3 los cr\u00edmenes de los responsables nazis a\u00fan vivos y ayud\u00f3 a llevarlos ante la justicia, habl\u00f3 de la transformaci\u00f3n de Alemania en los a\u00f1os que siguieron al Holocausto en \u00abuna nueva naci\u00f3n, un nuevo pa\u00eds, una nueva alma\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Advirti\u00f3 sobre el resurgir del racismo y la xenofobia en reacci\u00f3n a la crisis migratoria. \u00abCada uno de nosotros debe ser vigilante y comprometerse a un compromiso c\u00edvico\u00bb, se\u00f1al\u00f3 Klarsfeld.<\/p>\n

Entre los invitados de la ceremonia estuvieron tambi\u00e9n el ex primer ministro brit\u00e1nico Tony Blair, que preside el Consejo Europeo para la Tolerancia y la Reconciliaci\u00f3n, y el director de cine ruso Andrei Konchalovsky, que obtuvo una medalla por su trabajo cinematogr\u00e1fico contra el extremismo y la intolerancia.<\/p>\n
