La carrera por carretera que pasa por sitios de Holocausto y recuerdo jud\u00edo en Roma destacar\u00e1 eventos en Italia que marcar\u00e1n el D\u00eda Internacional del Holocausto.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La \u201cRun for Mem\u201d \u2013 abreviatura de Run for Remembrance: Looking Ahead \u2013 est\u00e1 programada para el 22 de enero, cinco d\u00edas antes de la celebraci\u00f3n del D\u00eda Internacional del Holocausto conmemorando el aniversario de la liberaci\u00f3n de Auschwitz en 1945. En algunos pa\u00edses, incluyendo Italia, los acontecimientos ocurren en d\u00edas o incluso semanas que rodean la fecha del 27 de enero.<\/p>\n

Patrocinada por las principales organizaciones jud\u00edas de Italia, Run for Mem comenzar\u00e1 y terminar\u00e1 en el hist\u00f3rico ghetto jud\u00edo de Roma, en una plaza que rememora la deportaci\u00f3n de jud\u00edos romanos a Auschwitz el 16 de octubre de 1943.<\/p>\n

\u201cPara conmemorar la Shoah y determinar la direcci\u00f3n futura\u201d, el evento tiene dos rutas \u2013 10 kil\u00f3metros para los atletas, 3.5 kil\u00f3metros para el p\u00fablico en general. Ambos llevan a los participantes a visitar sitios relacionados con el Holocausto.<\/p>\n

Se alentar\u00e1 a los participantes a detenerse, leer placas conmemorativas y encender velas. Tambi\u00e9n se reunir\u00e1n con Shaul Ladany, un superviviente israel\u00ed del Holocausto y campe\u00f3n de carrera que sobrevivi\u00f3 a la masacre terrorista contra los atletas israel\u00edes en los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de Munich en 1972.<\/p>\n

Organizado por la Uni\u00f3n de Comunidades Jud\u00edas Italianas, UCEI (Uni\u00f3n de Comunidades Jud\u00edas de Italia), bajo los auspicios del gobierno y en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Marat\u00f3n de Roma y la Asociaci\u00f3n Maccabi Italia, el evento cuenta con el apoyo de m\u00e1s de decenas de organizaciones jud\u00edas, c\u00edvicas, gubernamentales, deportivas. Ser\u00e1 transmitido por la televisi\u00f3n nacional.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl deporte como medio para la uni\u00f3n es una forma de afirmar la vida y el di\u00e1logo\u201d, declar\u00f3 la presidente de la UCEI, Noemi Di Segni, en una rueda de prensa.<\/p>\n

Otras iniciativas en todo el pa\u00eds para conmemorar el d\u00eda del Holocausto incluyen exposiciones, eventos culturales y educativos y ceremonias conmemorativas.<\/p>\n
