Tras conocerse la noticia del fallecimiento del cantante y poeta Leonard Cohen, el presidente de Israel, Reuven Rivlin, y su esposa, Nejama, difundieron un mensaje.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cEsta ma\u00f1ana nos miramos y tuvimos los mismos pensamientos. \u201cDance me to the end of love\u201d, fue la banda sonora de muchos momentos de nuestra vida como pareja, como familia. Nos brind\u00f3, como tantas otras de sus canciones, esp\u00edritu y profundidad de sentimientos en la vida cotidiana. Cu\u00e1n triste es despedirse del hombre cuya voz y cuyo rostro nos acompa\u00f1aron durante muchos, muchos a\u00f1os. Un gran creador, con el coraz\u00f3n abierto a todas las personas, que tambi\u00e9n acompa\u00f1\u00f3 al Estado de Israel en los combates y en los a\u00f1os de prosperidad\u201d.<\/p>\n

En di\u00e1logo con Radio Kol Israel, el m\u00fasico y compositor Oshik Levi, record\u00f3 esos d\u00edas. \u201cCuando estall\u00f3 la guerra yo actu\u00e9 en la base de la Fuerza A\u00e9rea en Hatzor, para animar a los soldados. Despu\u00e9s hice mi recorrido habitual de las ma\u00f1anas, y de pronto veo a Leonard Cohen, sentado con el actor del Teatro HaCameri, Ori Levy\u201d, recuerda.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo puede ser cierto lo que estoy viendo\u201d, relata Oshik Levi sobre sus pensamientos en aquel momento. \u201cMe acerqu\u00e9 y le pregunt\u00e9 c\u00f3mo hab\u00eda llegado hasta nosotros, qu\u00e9 hac\u00eda all\u00ed. Y \u00e9l me dijo: \u00b4escuch\u00e9 que ustedes est\u00e1n pasando un mal momento y vine a ayudar. Quiero trabajar y ayudar en los kibutzim\u00b4. Finalmente lograron convencerlo. \u201cEsa misma noche vino Mati Caspi y, junto con la gente que actuaba conmigo, viajamos a Hatzor. Leonard Cohen estaba muy emocionado y muy nervioso. Subimos al sal\u00f3n, que estaba lleno de pilotos, soldados, t\u00e9cnicos\u201d, relata Levi. \u201cSub\u00ed al escenario y les dije: \u00b4tengo una gran sorpresa para ustedes\u00b4. Una gira entre zonas de combate<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de esa primera y exitosa experiencia, el grupo de m\u00fasicos israel\u00edes junto a Leonard Cohen, comenzaron a recorrer las bases militares de las zonas donde se libraban los combates, con la intenci\u00f3n de acompa\u00f1ar a los soldados, de levantarles el \u00e1nimo a trav\u00e9s de la m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n

\u201cEstuvimos en el Sina\u00ed, y llegamos a hacer ocho actuaciones en un d\u00eda, en todo tipo de lugares\u201d, cuenta Oshik Levi. \u201cYo quer\u00eda darle un trato especial, y que le prepararan una habitaci\u00f3n en las bases militares, pero \u00e9l no acept\u00f3. Dorm\u00edamos con todos los soldados, en las bolsas de dormir, y habl\u00e1bamos \u2013 todo el grupo – hasta la madrugada\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cCuando lleg\u00e1bamos a una base, de artiller\u00eda, por ejemplo, lo ve\u00edas c\u00f3mo se acercaba a los soldados, a los oficiales y preguntaba. Tanto que parec\u00eda que iba a enrolarse en esa unidad. Con los soldados de la Marina, mostr\u00f3 el mismo inter\u00e9s, la misma curiosidad. En cada lugar, intentaba comprender qu\u00e9 hace cada soldado\u201d, recuerda.<\/p>\n

Para Oshik Levy, \u201cestaba clara la conexi\u00f3n de Leonard Cohen con el juda\u00edsmo y con Israel, pero tambi\u00e9n se destacaba su actitud humana, un hombre muy sensible y extremadamente comunicativo\u201d.<\/p>\n

Leonard Cohen pas\u00f3 en Israel dos meses durante la Guerra de Yom Kipur y, cuando regres\u00f3 a Estados Unidos, grab\u00f3 el disco \u201cNew skin of old ceremony\u201d, en el que reflej\u00f3 sus experiencias y sentimientos sobre la guerra.<\/p>\n
