Inmediatamente finalizado Yom Kippur, comenzamos a ocuparnos de la Suca. Demostrando as\u00ed que tomamos muy en serio nuestro renovado compromiso con la observancia de las Mitsvot que hemos declarado en Kippur.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

La Tor\u00e1 nos dice: \u00abEn las Sucot habitar\u00e9is por siete d\u00edas … para que vuestras generaciones sepan, que cuando saqu\u00e9 a los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto los hice habitar en Sucot [caba\u00f1as] …\u00bb (Vayiqr\u00e1 23).<\/p>\n

Durante siete d\u00edas abandonamos nuestros hogares y nos establecemos en la Suc\u00e1. La Suc\u00e1 es una caba\u00f1a o choza que consta de tres o cuatro paredes y un techo muy fr\u00e1gil hecho de ramas llamado sejaj. Comemos, estudiamos y, si el clima lo permite, dormimos en la Suc\u00e1. Traemos nuestros muebles m\u00e1s confortables para la Suc\u00e1, tratando que nuestra estad\u00eda en la Suc\u00e1 sea lo m\u00e1s placentera posible.<\/p>\n

La fiesta de Sucot nos recuerda los cuarenta a\u00f1os que pasamos en el desierto cuando salimos de Egipto, y nos encaminamos a la Tierra Prometida. Durante todo ese tiempo HaShem nos proporcion\u00f3 comida, agua y todas nuestras necesidades. Tambi\u00e9n nos concedi\u00f3 una protecci\u00f3n especial en el desierto contra las inclemencias del tiempo, los animales salvajes y otros peligros del desierto.<\/p>\n

Esa Protecci\u00f3n Divina es la que recordamos en Sucot. Cuando nos mudamos a la Suc\u00e1 (a la que llamamos una casa sin techo, entendiendo que un techo nos protege especialmente de la lluvia y el fr\u00edo, mientras que el sejaj de la Suc\u00e1 s\u00f3lo nos protege del sol) y dejamos la seguridad de nuestros hogares con sus \u00abs\u00f3lidos\u00bb techos, estamos rememorando, o pr\u00e1cticamente reviviendo aquellos d\u00edas en los que estuvimos, en el desierto de Sina\u00ed, directamente bajo la directa protecci\u00f3n de HaShem. Y al habitar en la fr\u00e1gil Suc\u00e1 debemos recordar que, en \u00faltima instancia, la protecci\u00f3n que m\u00e1s cuenta es la protecci\u00f3n Divina.<\/p>\n

\u00bfC\u00d3MO CONSTRUIR LA SUC\u00c1?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hay muchos detalles y especificaciones acerca de c\u00f3mo construir la Suc\u00e1.<\/p>\n

Los principios b\u00e1sicos son:<\/p>\n

PAREDES<\/strong>: Las Paredes deben construirse primero, antes de colocar el \u00abtecho\u00bb o sejaj sobre el esqueleto de la Suc\u00e1. Las paredes pueden estar hechas de cualquier material capaz de resistir un viento promedio. Por este motivo, da acuerdo al Rab Obadia Yosef z\u00bbl, no deber\u00edamos usar s\u00e1banas o telas para las paredes, ya que estas se muevan con el viento. Es preferible usar paneles s\u00f3lidos de madera, acr\u00edlico, etc.<\/p>\n

TECHO<\/strong>: En la parte superior de las paredes colocamos el sejaj (techo hecho de ramas, juncos, etc.). Para el sejaj podemos usar todo tipo de ramas: juncos de bamb\u00fa o esterilla, ramas de \u00e1rboles con hojas, ramas de palma, etc. Hay cortinas especiales hechas de ca\u00f1as, juncos o bamb\u00fa que se pueden utilizar para este prop\u00f3sito.<\/p>\n

SOMBRA<\/strong>: El sejaj tiene que ser lo suficientemente denso como para proporcionar sombra; pero debe ser lo suficientemente fr\u00e1gil como para que NO nos proteja de la lluvia. Una Suc\u00e1 \u00abimpermeable\u00bb no se considera una \u00abSuc\u00e1\u00bb y por lo tanto no es valida (=pesul\u00e1).<\/p>\n
