Con 4 a\u00f1os, Sanusey de Gambia se est\u00e1 recuperando de una cirug\u00eda a coraz\u00f3n abierto en el Centro M\u00e9dico Wolfson en Holon, Israel. \u00c9l es el ni\u00f1o n\u00famero 4 mil en ser salvado por la ONG israel\u00ed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sanusey y su familia viven en la peque\u00f1a ciudad de Brikama, Gambia, justo al sur de la capital del pa\u00eds. Con tan s\u00f3lo tres meses de edad, Sanusey fue diagnosticado con un defecto cong\u00e9nito del coraz\u00f3n. La cirug\u00eda necesaria para curar su coraz\u00f3n no estaba disponible en Gambia.<\/p>\n

Despu\u00e9s de m\u00e1s de tres a\u00f1os de viajes de ida y vuelta al hospital local, su m\u00e9dico comenz\u00f3 a buscar una manera de conseguirle a Sanusey la cirug\u00eda que necesitaba desesperadamente. Afortunadamente, el presidente de la Fundaci\u00f3n Sionista del Reino Unido, Paul Charney, intervino e hizo la conexi\u00f3n entre Gambia y \u201cSave a Child’s Heart\u201d. Con su ayuda para comunicarse con el embajador Paul Hirschson en la Embajada de Israel, \u201cSave a Child’s Heart\u201d fue capaz de llevar a Sanusey y a otros tres ni\u00f1os de Gambia a Israel para la cirug\u00eda.<\/p>\n

Sanusey lleg\u00f3 a Israel el domingo 15 de mayo, junto con otros 12 ni\u00f1os de Gambia y Tanzania. Estaba acompa\u00f1ado por su hermana mayor, Penda, y se qued\u00f3 muy cerca de ella durante las muchas horas de viaje desde \u00c1frica Occidental.<\/p>\n

El Dr. Lior Sasson y su equipo m\u00e9dico operaron a Sanusey durante horas. Penda se sent\u00f3 en la sala de espera, llorando y esperando lo mejor. Afortunadamente, la cirug\u00eda fue un \u00e9xito. S\u00f3lo tres d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de su operaci\u00f3n, Sanusey estaba sentado en la cama y sonriendo.<\/p>\n

Actualmente se est\u00e1 recuperando en Holon. Irradia confianza y es un placer verlo jugar con los otros ni\u00f1os de todo el mundo, sonriente, feliz y, finalmente, saludable.<\/p>\n
