La primera de ellas es\u00a0kabbed et abija ve-et imeja \u00abHonra a tu padre y a tu madre\u00bb. Este es el quinto de los Diez Mandamientos.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Y hay una segunda Mitsv\u00e1 en el libro de Vayiqr\u00e1 -Leviticus- 19, 3, que dice <em>ish imm\u00f3 veabiv tira&#8217;u<\/em>, \u00abUno debe respetar a su madre y a su padre\u00bb. Estas dos Mitsvot son diferentes y de hecho, se complementan entre s\u00ed, como veremos a continuaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comenzaremos por la segunda Mitsv\u00e1: Respetar a nuestros padres. El lenguaje que utiliza la Tor\u00e1, que nosotros tradujimos como respecto es <em>tira&#8217;u<\/em> , que literalmente significa \u00abtemer\u00bb. Pero no se trata de tenerle miedo a los padres sino de un temor reverencial, o sea, respeto.<\/p>\n<p>Respetar a los padres incluye todo lo que NO debemos hacer a nuestros padres.<\/p>\n<p>Algunos ejemplos:<\/p>\n<p>No puedo llamar a mis padres por su nombre particular.<\/p>\n<p>No puedo contradecir o desobedecer a mis padres.<\/p>\n<p>Un hijo o una hija no deben sentarse en un lugar que es designado para su padre o su madre. Por ejemplo, en el asiento de su madre en la mesa o en el sill\u00f3n especial de su padre en la casa, o en el asiento de su padre en la sinagoga, etc.<\/p>\n<p>El respeto de los padres es una forma de establecer l\u00edneas claras: \u00abYo soy el padre y tu eres el hijo: no somos iguales.\u00bb. Esta distancia es absolutamente necesaria para los hijos, no para el ego de los padres. Estos principios establecen l\u00edmites y definen la autoridad, sin lo cual un ni\u00f1o no puede ser bien educado. En un sentido pr\u00e1ctico, la Mitsv\u00e1 de \u00abrespetar\u00bb a nuestros padres se aplica principalmente cuando somos ni\u00f1os o j\u00f3venes y dependemos de nuestros padres. Un ni\u00f1o jud\u00edo se educa a actuar con disciplina y a aceptar la autoridad de los padres. Lo cual eventualmente lo entrenar\u00e1 para aceptar una autoridad superior: la autoridad Divina.<\/p>\n<p>La primera Mitsv\u00e1, \u00abHonrar a los padres\u00bb, es muy diferente. No se trata de lo que NO est\u00e1 permitido hacer hacia los padres, sino de lo que debemos hacer hacia nuestros padres. B\u00e1sicamente, honrar a nuestros padres significa \u00abcuidar a\u00bb y \u00abocuparnos de\u00bb nuestros padres. Y como ya explicamos, este es el quinto de los Diez mandamientos.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestros sabios explicaron que honrar a los padres incluye por ejemplo nuestra obligaci\u00f3n de atender a nuestros padres,acompa\u00f1arlos, llevarlos y traerlos,\u00a0y si fuera necesario, darles de comer y vestirlos. Esta Mitsv\u00e1 hace hincapi\u00e9 en el deber de gratitud y reconocimiento hacia quienes nos alimentaron, nos vistieron y cuidaron de nosotros cuando \u00e9ramos ni\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>Como el lector podr\u00e1 apreciar, el respeto a los padres se aplica principalmente cuando nosotros, los hijos, dependemos de nuestros padres.
